The lumad in her doesn't go away, The map's of time; written Upon her face. O' the Stories, of her kin dost speak; an empress Of the Subanon, she is strong, I weak. Tis she's sedulous, in her way's of hard Work, knowledge do I gain, she guideth Me in the rain; she dryeth mine tear's, With her malong of royal worth. Tis God's known her from her birth, He picked her from the Mindanao Sea; Verily, verily she's a sacred one, Every breath she breathes is turquoise green. And when she takes her daily breath, Psalm's compose inside her chest, inside Her chest where her heart doth beat; Beat's of holiness, in whitened sheets. Wild child of unknown path's, mine Guide, mine friend, soulmate of the past; Lover now, as wilt alway's be, do I learn, So much I've yearned, from God's eastern breeze. O' tis she's free, she's just like me, As I am her; O' I am her; she call's Me pookie, she's mine mi amour, Mine Reyna, girl, Jehovah's daughter. ©Brandon Nagley ©Lonesome poet's poetry ©Earl jane Nagley dedicated ( àgapi mou)

Subanon latagaw ( Subanon wanderer) cebuano tongue
Ang labo no? Bakit ba tayo nandito? Pagtapos nito balik na ko sa normal. Tangina nyo.

TO PUT the art and talent of Mindanaoan fashion design into the spotlight, Kagay’anon fashion designers put their hands together to organize the 5th Mindanao Fashion Summit at the Limketkai Center Rotunda from August 4 to 6, every 4 p.m. “Being a core event of the Higalaay festival, the opening salvo, the Mindanao Fashion Summit can really highlight fashion designers here in Cagayan de Oro and also in different points of Mindanao to let everyone see what they can do in the world of fashion design especially now that there are only so few opportunities for these designers to show off their works to the public. This is why we have the Mindanao fashion Summit because Kagay-anon designers believe that even if they join national fashion shows like the Philippine Fashion week, most of them still aren't getting the right encouragement as a fashion designer.” said Robbie Pamisa, the overall organizer of the event. The Fashion Summit is a three-day event composed of seven sub-categories such as the Mindanaoan collection, the Menswear collection, and the Ororama orange collection for the first day, the Guest Designers’ collection, the Fashion Institute of the Philippines collection and the Loop Lifestyle Fashion Show for the second day, and the Holiday Grand collection for the third day which will serve as the culmination of the fashion event. Mindanaoan Fashion designers from Cagayan de Oro as well as Davao, Butuan, Iligan, and Bukidnon have come to showcase their talents. Some of the fashion geniuses of the event include Alma Mae Roa, Angela Soriano, Ann Semblante, Benjie Manuel, Boogie Musni Rivera, Gil Macaibay III, John Mark Magellan’s, Joshua Guibone, Juniel Doring, Kiko Domo, Mark Christopher Yaranon, and Mavy Cooper de Leon. One of the highlights of the event is the Oro Fashion Designers’ Guild and the Designers Assembly featuring a collection of clothes using Mindanao material such as the Mindanao silk. Sponsors such as Ororama and The Loop Towers will also be showcasing their products in the fashion event. “Even student fashion designers from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines have been encouraged to participate so that they will be able to experience how a fashion show works. This is also a way for us to fulfill our mission to be another avenue for fashion designers to show what they have,” Paisa said.Read more at:http://www.marieaustralia.com/short-formal-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/long-formal-dresses

Behold the One with the Aries, the Ward of Santa Muerte Our 16th President voted by 16 million Filipinos this 2016 The 1st President from Mindanao from being Mayor of Davao…Duterte! He is One with MiJoRdGr (Miriam, Jojo, Rody, Grace) The 4 Opposition Presidentiables who defeated Mar Roxas And brought Liberal Party its great disgrace! The One with the Aries from the Land with War The Land of Promise – feared by typhoons, but filled with goons So from her came a Liberator among MiJoRdGr! That this One should war with our nation’s greatest horrors -Drug Lords, Liberals, Treasoners, Criminals & Terrorists- These powerful entities to our history are desecrators! So by being one with lawmakers, law enforcers & lawful people By the overwhelming power of the Supermajority Our country’s greatest terrors…Du30 shall conquer them all! But first, he must defeat his detractors – Leila, Leni & Trillanes These triple crooks who want to topple the government Are also said to be conspiring with EU, UN & US! Yet with Trump’s triumph, US is no longer an enemy Our American hatred weakened, our Chinese friendship strengthened As it established great friendship with Pres. Du30! Do not emulate the girl power of those Liberal crooks We got an Olympic medalist Heidilyn & Ms. International 2016 But Leila & Leni?...Can only ruin our country…like blasted nukes! Do not worry for we have Pacquiao as still winner & role model Alongwith Gen. Bato, a victim of yellow washing machine But these Pro-Du30 men…to criminals tough, to innocents gentle! May God allow this True Change to take place with continuity Let Pres. Atop the glass of the mindanao sea
My hand smells of apple and Iron in my blood begins to revolt. A shadow puppet smirks, pulling blanket Wrapped over the 14 year old little girl's thighs; It's morning already, I've got to **** you, I've got to **** you. We found our bodies drowned at The colorless side of the bottom of Gangga; As if wars would soon start again Like when we were older and you sang me A farewell with such an emotionless voice -- The tuberoses had let you sing the sonnet alone And since then you could not Escape the karmic silence; You began to replace Shiva with the ticking clock which battery's drained; You ate the mercury, the mercury. You began to carry your charger everywhere yet I kept Failing to taste your tongue even for once; For once I saw the clouds and they're blue Like eyes of the blonde girl with plastic daisies tucked On her hair and Dried forget-me-nots grew on your wet heart; The Mindanao helped me to get through But such tight seaweed had tied my feet to you (to get me back to you, to get me back to you); An island of fears, your homeland; mine; traditional songs and dances I refuse to learn; City of fire was only your lies. (I am sorry I got your name misspelled, carved on my soul.)

Knowing her all, in and out
I miss some memories of people, 8pms next to a ceiling of November stars and random yo momma jokes. I miss pepperoni pizzas and orange sodas of a meeting the night before an Algebra exam. I miss some people who move to the United States, back to Mindanao, away to Makati. I miss not knowing of a graduation until we sing that batch song one last time. I miss her under a Langka tree with a chuckle next to the height of my left shoulder. She was measuring my happiness in the little talks and ringing laughter. I miss wiping her tears as I helped roll her bag across the rocky road to a bus. I miss being under the wings of God when I first met him through lion puppets and singing prophets. I miss biting through those chocolate chip cookies after successfully reciting John 3:16. I miss eating until the tummy says “keep going” and the candy bar bag was always open. I miss crying when my yaya leaves me everytime I go to kindergarten. This was every single time I get down the school bus. I miss smiling for a family portrait next to the Christmas tree. I miss riding across a river with my little brother in paper hats and a floormat boat I miss walking across a field of santol buds. Ruby to my eyes and to others who pick them. I miss my panda bear. I could always sew the eyes back on. I miss being young But I can’t miss growing up and moving on.

Something Missing
If the green waves in Siargao and the blue swells in La Union could meet somewhere and speak, what would they talk about? In what language, even? Ilocano? Bisaya? Tagalog? Español? Or perhaps the better question is; what would they 𝘯𝘰𝘵 talk about? If the waters of Siargao could introduce itself to the northwest wind of La Union, I think, they would create waves more gigantic than Bondi or Nazare. And if the eastern Pacific wind of Siargao kiss the West Philippine Sea beside La Union, I believe, they would cause tsunami bigger than Japan's. The waves would be bigger than anywhere else, together they would be the best. Or they could be the worst. And so God willed La Union in the northwest, and Siargao further down south in Mindanao. And so they could not speak, meet and kiss...

I see you wincing in pain, eyes half shut knuckles turning white as you tried to fight tried to fight their words in your head crying out, screaming in pain, saying "You don't understand and you never will" It feels right to struck them slicing through their flesh with their own blade sharp words fueled by foolishness and self-assurance screaming, screaming "You don't understand and you never will" Because you are what you are, Each time a laugh escapes from their poisonous mouths, amused with their callous jokes feels like a stab,a strike, a blow You grieve for your people while they sit and jest forgetting how we are of the same blood and flesh only separated by miles and faith And if we could only scream: It's easy to joke about the chaos when you're not helpless in the city of lost souls using your gun trigger of a tounge ignoring the fact that somewhere real bullets are being fired the sound of bombs going off piercing the air as people scramble, scatter, and run for their lives It's easy to joke about it when you're not there robbed of your rights staying hidden, cowering in fear It's easy for you to act like this like an immature piece of sh*t hiding behind your screen convincing yourself that if you pretend long enough maybe they'd cease to exist But they won't disappear see all the bodies laid in the sidewalks to rot see every household and streets stained crimson with blood hear the children weeping for their mothers and fathers hear the sound of mosques and hometowns crumbling to the ground See them, see the fallen men in green their eyes cast upward to the sky their blood sprinkling the earth agony written on their faces for this is the price of keeping their solemn vow It's easy to wallow in apathy easy to carelessy throw words around when you wouldn't be greeted with caskets when you wouldn't be driven out of your land when you wouldn't lose the home of your faith when you are not them You forget that once Mindanao is completely consumed, devoured they'll be coming for us by then, who will fight for you who will pray for you maybe no one, maybe they'll just joke around and they'll laugh because they aren't you And you'll remember when you weren't them So see them, flinching as you laugh fighting your words in their head crying, screaming "Please, please, please stop" -W.

For the earthquake stricken people in Mindanao ×A collaboration with Maia Padua..another published author and poet.. As the wrath of the earth Swipes us off-guard Our own works knelled down Its debris scattered all around Roars from beneath unearthed Deafening the already deaf ones Once so numb by her cry and her lullaby In the midst of rustling winds and roaring sounds so frightening Cries of men rippling Wondering why such wrath whipped us all the rage we cannot fathom why Had led us back to what we are from nothing...nothing We light this candle of hope Praying that your tears will be gone Your broken heart will be whole Faith and faith alone withstand Like a flame of lighted candle Flew to where the breeze would go May it bring hope to everyone Lifting and bring their hearts afire If only we can sing a song for you A song to keep you going A song of hope not fear A song of faith to bear Keeping the faith burning..burning GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH.. Candle of Hope
From our ancestors to what we are now. We are Filipinos, racism we won't allow, People have changed but not our culture. For our culture, we respect and treasure. Lapu-Lapu is still in our books. Made history with an arrow he took. Tried to stop Spain and killed Magellan, Made a shrine in Cebu, in Mactan. Many things in the Philippines. Like a church older than our parents. An eagle that's crucially endangered, Or the Rafflesias in Mindanao. They are the diamonds we treasure. Those things can give us pleasure. From seeing other people happy, We will be full of glee.

Until The Future
~_A man travels from Mindanao to Kyushu and says his inner geography is enlarged by each new place. Is it? Might he not grow more by staring for twenty-four hours at a single pine needle?_ —Arthur Sze, "Parallax", _Gift of Tongues_ Trees! written March 22nd, 2021 I know the answer to the question posed above is of course the single pine needle but I am tired of this pine needle day after day, year after year this same pine needle. I am sure if my heart opened enough this pine needle would teach me the answer to the question I can't think of that would make everything ok but I want to see other trees! I want to see trees I never imagined armies of them marching over hills and also the lone banyan tree in the desert in India. I want to see the first tree after crossing the ocean and the last tree before the tundra. I want to see the Tree of the Year! every one that is still alive! and mourn the ones that don't exist anymore. I want to see the 5000 year old bristlecone pines in California and visit the seedling I planted in grade school in our backyard. I want to see the tree of life Yggdrasill and Anne Frank's chestnut tree in Amsterdam. I want to see every tree growing along every fence-line on every field men have ever plowed. Only then, maybe, will I be satisfied to return to this same pine needle.
