"fidelis" poems
Chekhov and Murakami came to me in short spurts of memory; as if the life of a keyboard was a retro invention sinking the ancient sea bona fidelis. Temper Fidelis and sorry larks wish upon the galoshes you wore to repeated proms instigated in large moral distances between burning barns (it's a dangerous hobby). Starved for trapped frogs with claws and violence was a question answered in blood so two wrongs made a state of nothingness free of wrong or right (***you nihilistic ***** she suggested a better drink to pick at Starbucks: 'a flaming frappucino at 140 degrees.' (what are you, some angry Russian aristocrat contemptuous of an English wife T-minus a decade ? )close-bracket) God is sick of two things: my continued and addicted references to Judaeo-Christianity and the dragged sympathy of humanity for his lost son ("it's been 2013 years for Chrissake") you melt on me like a strange evening spent with a stick of butter self improvement 46% complete

~ fallen… heroes all, saviors-in-training, on mission repeat; the service-giving, life-giving, members of a fighting team. existing solely that you and i can spend our time consumed with the art of loving well; their actions no less impassioned than our own, no less worthy, no less loving and no less selfless.   whatever we think of war, we must think of the individuals who move toward the fray rather than away; those to whom we owe our very everyday existence be it extraordinary or mundane; to their daily efforts., to their repeated training, to their daily sacrifice, we offer a prayer-filled salute! and to these who paid dearly, to wives, sons & daughters, mothers and fathers, nation with a grateful heart, a debt we cannot repay, we humbly offer our heart-filled and loving tribute. may you ever rest in peace. ~ *post script. serving you and me from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, these fallen Marine heroes are: Capt. Stanford Henry Shaw III of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; Master Sgt. Thomas Saunders of Camp Lejeune; Staff Sgt. Liam Flynn of Queens, New York; Staff Sgt. Trevor P. Fox Fidelis for Hazel So, she said, what do you want? *Somewhere warm to sleep inside,* said the fox in the snow. There’s only the bike shed, she said, and only at night. Right, said the fox in the snow *If you let me in, and you let me out, I’ll be a good fox.* You’d better be, she said, No squatters here, even at Christmas. Verstehen Sie? Etiam, said the fox in the snow, *Semper ergo sum vulpes fidelis.* Fox in a blizzard For Joe Looks serious this blizzard of snowflakes. A proper ice storm perhaps? All the same yet different the microscope shows. Who knows? Just hearsay it’s said, and cold on the nose, said the fox in a blizzard.

Two Poems for Christmas Cards
Why is Jesus consorting with the wizard man? If I were the wizard, I’d need the beard… Apparently beards are in now. But if I were the wizard, I would change the sky… The sky is good but it could be better. The swirled spray of technicolour patterns. Then if I were the wizard, I’d live with the cows… Cows are the divine creature, Spending their days extracting the golden spirit of the grass, Four stomachs, one psychedelic voyage. Even waste isn’t wasted. Now if I were the wizard, I’d shrink the universe… I want to see the stars burning in the brilliance. I want the vast, spiraled arms of the galaxy to greet me by my window. See if I were the wizard, There wouldn't be fat people… We would all be huge and slide around on greased up silk rugs. The wizard’s power, will forever sour, the final hour of flight. And in his hat, the fat rat was sat, and deprived of all natural light. This albino creature, was his newest feature, and preacher to his army of mice. With a forked tongue, the call would be sung, “Semper Fidelis” Don’t think twice. This rodent beast has a task from the wizard. He is to watch you. Why? For security that’s why. Those beady yellow eyes shine in the darkness above wizard head. The ragged ears can hear everything that is said. What if I were the wizard? Well, I’d see no need for hats… The hair is too long for the sun. His flowing robe of royal blue, His perfect ideals, misconstrued, A great top hat with stars and stripes, And a gnarled finger prodding at the night. He wants you, He needs you, Don’t answer him or he’ll find you. The power he flexes has come from the masses, We loved him, We chose him. He has barked out the command, “Semper Fidelis!” and we have answered him. Hell has descended on the sands by his feet and was trodden flat by his army of mice. The sands and stones and dusted hills, all plundered to flex his might. Can you hear him bellow out the curse? The holy mountain shakes loose its earthly foundations. The sky cracks and returns his call with flashing fiery ferocity. He has summoned forward the Deep and the Dark, and deliverance has fallen. He has loosed these beasts upon us, weather was changed by his hand and the Earth has spit fourth these.

"Ooh-rah", my darling semper fi, I wish there was more behind this facade, this lie, This stigma that falls around loving a marine, Its not just dress blues and m-sixteens, There's letters, lonely nights, and solitary hearts, There's learning to awkwardly ****** your own parts, There's the creeping feeling of insanity growing inside, The rules and loyalties you must constantly abide, All the while the front pages will place irrational fears, That you will loose his soul to these wartime years, Whether it be explosive passing or emotional withdrawal, To lose him, your one true love, is the hardest type of fall, But he'll keep his spirits up and you'll tell him to keep his head down, And you will be patiently waiting for the moment he comes back around, And as for myself, I have not yet fallen and I will stay strong, Even when my fears constantly prolong, This tired journey I promised to embark, Blindfolded, in love with my mind in the dark, But my heart belongs to my marine; it will always be his, Until he comes home and long then after, I will be Semper Fidelis.

Semper Fidelis (15w)
I heard the trumpets from too far away. Labored to save what I had given away. Pretended to believe and Believed in pretend. Semper Fidelis to the bitter condescend . . . I answered the call, made a very important date; scurried to remember then remembered too late; embraced my Foe by forgetting my Friend. What is this ‘This’ of ‘This We’ll defend’? No Dream was too heavy, no payment too sleight to abandon in the brilliance of the peaceful light. So Determined I was to ignore my Fall and give everything I bemoaned for security Above all. No borders no boundaries no Heavens no Hell nothing so precious it could not be given as well. What use Freedom? What need I of mere Country? What means Non Sibi Sed Patriae? Oh Thetis put down your cumbersome sword. Lift up the blindfold, as we can afford to lay down courage, honor, duty and walk into the might of Entitlement for All and for all entitled Night . . . And Lady Liberty, you are no longer needed; walk away, walk away, liberty ceded . . . Here are your chains, Lady, wear them quite well. Pray speak not of Heaven so we can pretend there’s no Hell.

Abandoned
We are peculiar characters, Ignite the blaze among brethren. With simple vices of cogitors, Beliefs, labels: stumble; fallen. We value our semper fidelis, Whence last your soul was caressed? A casual stroll won't suffice, From the abyss your heart was fetched Above the crowd, our gaze collide, Troubled thinkers be seeking zen. Below the stars always beside, Distant paths be unwritten.

Soon I will fall here it does not matter to me I am rather used to dying god in so many human forms Hush I am the one her light her mighty sword and here I conclude another chapter one that my elders will be ****** off with Oh short winged muppets many years I denied death and fear not the cold shiver as I am the cold kiss of death My all to my sweet mistress she who sings to me at night Tibi Deus fidelis ad mortem, I die with my wings folded and **** the human nasty race for I know my sweet brother Christ they will **** me liken to you By Christos Andreas Kourtis aka NeonSolaris

Semper Fidelis
Her leggings made me think does she have ***** hair? and if she does, is it trimmed? would she show me, on a dare? Her tiny slippered feet manicured or needing to be clipped? laquered crystal clear? or a color cool and hip? Her lips soft are whispering I swear she called my name? perhaps I'm just imagining? wishing, just the same Her eyes pierce my darkness I don't even know just how wondering if she knows no way I'll break my vows
