When I speak of the desires of my heart, they designate it insanity,
yet what they'll never savvy is that just like the nature's care for naturity,
I, too, have cared for you, since the first time I came to see your quiddity.
Even so, you too will continue to see it as nothing but a boy's mendacity.

Watching the stars above yearning for happiness,
my extant soul slumps with despondence,
the melancholic glisten of the meandering clouds, an inefficacious prospect,
reminding me of my world, a life sans zest.

I still reminisce of the time we met, a starry night with a mesial crescent moon;
The Hour before the Holy, the ephemeral moment blessed by love, purity, and strength.
The enigmatic attraction I felt, the way my heart ached, begging to be united with yours, soon;
the daze I lost myself into, coupled with the way you took away my breath.

And I dare proclaim, that I cannot live without your voice;
your sweet whispers, accompanied by your smile.
The way you look at me, makes me rejoice,
in your eyes, I see a future worthwhile.
Your hairs flutter sound, alluringly,
engrosses me so naturally.

Yet, we stand here as friends, pretending to be nothing more,
the fear of rejection shaking us to our core.
I do think — think about you all the time,
but it cannot work, for I am a dime a dozen.

Would you still look at me, despite life’s horror?
For I vow to stand by you, never to depart,
In sickness and in health, for richer or poorer,
for better or for worse, till death do us part.

You swore that I could trust you, but it wasn't something I could hold
Promising your presence, and yet I walked a lonely road
Offering pieces of the puzzle, that were never quite enough
With one foot out the door, you said don't ask me for too much

You became complacent, considered us a guarantee
A half full kind of love, you saw as my remedy
The hero in your story, knowing you could tame me when you tried
Expecting I was gracious, you held your head up high

Now with hindsight in your corner and nostalgia a friend
You claim you've learned your lesson, your old self you do transcend
Though you're seeking recognition and praise for all your change
I sense that inside lurking, is a monster barely caged
"When your turn finally arrives," he says,
"you'll understand why the wait was really long.
You'll see why the storm was rough and strong,
Why the Ocean was endless, the sails torn.
When your turn finally arrives, every tree in this jungle will make sense.
You'll appreciate each wound and scratch for the beautiful scars they are.
You'll finally see adventures in your endless journey.
You'll realize that the burdens and weight you couldn't bear
were merely the crucible where your strength was forged.
The wrecking heartbreaks, the tears you've shed,
You'll learn chiseled your spirit and your character made.
When your turn finally arrives, you'll understand that
The purpose of going through the deepest caverns and the darkest tunnels
was to unearth hidden gems, like precious pearls in funnels.
When your turn arrives, amid life's daily stumbles,
You'll discover that each loss you picked up along the way
collectively turned you into the masterpiece that you are."
She was like music,
and I longed to dance.

Her heart was the beat,
and I begged for the chance.

Her words were the vocals,
and I was put in a trance.

Her smile was the melody,
and I fell in love at first glance.
Love isn't blind,
blind are those,
who never loved.
