From morning until evening,
and all throughout the night;
The men of our Armed Forces,
are standing by to fight.
~
They give of their own selves,
to protect this precious land;
They do it with conviction,
they do the best they can.
~
Maintaining freedom is their goal,
with the tears and sweat they shed;
They fight through their own tears,
and they'd do it all again.
~
With guns in hand and ***** boots,
they trample through the mud;
Defending our great country,
this land they dearly love.
~
Singing, "God Bless America,"
it gets them through the day;
And when they go to bed at night,
this is what they pray.

Overcome with tragedy,
my life's been torn apart;
All I've known is sadness,
'til broken is my heart.
~
I knew who I should call,
to help in my dismay;
I called out to my Jesus,
and He had this to say.
~
"Dear, sweet child of mine,
do not be dismayed;
Lay your burdens on me,
each one I'll gladly take.
~
And when I see you crying,
I'll dry the tears you shed;
I never will forsake you,
you're one of my dear friends.
~
If you should lose your way,
I'll guide you with my love;
Lost you'll never be,
I'll be watching from above.
~
God cares for you so much,
He sent His only Son;
Salvation I did offer,
to you and everyone.
~
People laughed at me,
just as they do to you;
I loved them anyway,
and forgave all they did do.
~
So do not be afraid,
for I have been there too;
People turned away from me,
they simply had no clue.
~
So go to sleep my dearest,
wipe all your fears away;
Tomorrow will be better,
just trust in what I say."

She walks to school,
with her head hung low;
A bruise has formed,
'neath her high, cheek bone.
~
She's been beaten again,
from her head to her toes;
T'is a nightly ritual,
in her small, shabby home.
~
A sack lunch she carries,
she's not eaten in days;
Her coat, much too large,
is beginning to fade.
~
The children all stare,
and giggle at her;
It is all her fault,
of this she is sure.
~
She turns around quickly,
and heads straight for home;
She runs through the door,
once again all alone.
~
She eats her sack lunch,
what a welcome delight;
Her heart has been shattered,
and so this child cries.

I write because I love to,
I write because it's me;
I do not write for fortune,
or much publicity.
~
I write from my own heart,
the words just seem to flow;
I write to make  a difference,
I write to give men hope.
~
I write because I'm called to,
by my Father, up above;
I write to spread my words,
I write to spread my love.

On the late Summer night,
of 1942;
I took the life,
of my brother Hue.
~
He was dear to me,
and I loved him so;
But on that night,
he had to go.
~
Mama would have shot me,
if only she knew;
That it was I,
who killed her Hue.
~
He was Mamma's pet,
and I always knew;
That more than I,
she loved her Hue.
~
So I grabbed my gun,
put it to his head;
I pulled the trigger,
and Hue was dead.
~
I came to my senses,
when I heard someone screaming;
Then I woke up,
I was only dreaming.

No love could quite compare,
with the love I found in you;
And every time you look at me,
I know this much is true.
~
You touch me in such places,
where no one's ever graced;
Your embrace is soft and gentle,
and can not be replaced.
~
Whenever I am with you,
I feel so safe inside;
You hold me when I laugh,
you hold me when I cry.
~
Forever I can see us,
our future's intertwined;
I am so glad you found me,
I am so glad you're mine.

When I first came to the Lord,
I had so much to learn;
My heart was overjoyed,
my mind, oh how it yearned.
~
I spoke to God quite often,
and listened with intent;
At all He had to tell me,
my Soul was quite content.
~
My love continued to grow,
as I spent more time with Him;
He saved me from myself,
He saved me from my sins.
~
The more I learned about Him,
the more my faith did grow;
The more in which I learned,
the less I didn't know.
~
Now He walks beside me,
He'll never let me go;
I am shielded by His love,
a love I've never known.
