Helena
like yellow flowers
on faded dreams
you came to me
gently,
with the soothing voice
of a sweaty spring
thank you, old friend
for being able to be
dark enough to see
the hidden light
in me

i will not go into the times we shared
asphyxia and summer air
juxtaposed to form
an inseparable pair

who am I, old friend
when the ship´s horn blares
if you made me who I am
(if you made me scarce)

like yellow flowers
on faded dreams
you left me
softly, without
any warning of
the lack of color
(there would be)
without your splendor

bowling-pin Tom
tastes like
sour milk and
monthly payments
I run around his kitchen
dressed in lethal
butter knife

my railroad cat
with eyes that
play-pretend the almost
catch me´s
finds meaning in my
indulgent
nursery rhymes

Trailer park escapism
joy in school-bus
traffic rides
otherwise inconsequent
ring dove hands
that scrape
my sea-salt thighs

Closed systems tend to maximize, Daddy gave me hint & warning sign. I beg him to decorticate my stubborn rind,to draw the line -----
a graceless short fat thumb-scratch. ***** finger, rough disorder, I unwind in the presence of infection. Bandaid glue and patchwork sweat, chaos in prevention: self- destruction.

Mark me with your teachings
In the dark place of my mind.
Hallowed by the seasons
Only hatred you will find.
You burned me for your pleasure
Melted flesh from off my bones.
Only to find that I’m immortal
And there’s no way left to atone.

’Cause the Devil’s got a hold of me
I’m a wicked thing can’t you see.
Let’s not talk about conspiracy
You’ve been playing wicked games on me.

You paint me as a demon
A wayward child of the night.
Just to silence the true reason
I have fallen to this plight.
You paid highly for the pleasure
Of consuming flesh and sin.
Now you’re poisoned by the toxins
That have nurtured deep within.

‘Cause the Devil’s got a hold of me
I’m a wicked thing can’t you see.
Let’s not talk about conspiracy
You’ve been playing wicked games on me.

Hush now sweet one
Don’t you cry
If a witch should look you
In the eye...

Josh
You were born near the warm ocean,
grew up around there,
With your clear acrylic smile
and sun-kissed blonde hair

I, the winter cold
More north than I can remember,
We met that day you visited,
a brisk chill, that December

We drank and danced,
while the years passed over
Argued and grew apart,
our greatest fears, now sober

My memories of you, once treasured
Now, faded
as sun deprived lands complain,
Forever, jaded
Renaissance of love and wisdom
Arise in the air
Springtime flowers bloom
To defeat despair

Yet here lies all
The secrets told
To live this season
With a spirit that is old

I am not violent.
I am not mischievous.
I am what they made me, a weapon.
I am a result.
Yet, they had the nerve to tell me to find peace.
