Fallen leaves
herald the coming
into Spring's

Life

springs into
coming, the herald
leaves fallen
I wrote a short, somewhat flawed palindrome awhile back because I was inspired by several The Masked Pimpernel had written. He, in turn, expanded and edited it into a masterpiece. I feel so honoured!

Forcing my eyes closed
I try to plunge back into dormancy
Clocking out
To dream that dream again
Squeezing the light out
With my hands
A gun,
There’s a boy without a face.
Looking over the black river
Seeming so barren, deadly.
This nightmarish scape
We go somewhere,
I can’t quite recall, but it was handsome.
I ask his name
He tells me.
I want to die with you
He tells me.
I ask his name
I can’t quite recall, but it was handsome.
We go somewhere,
This nightmarish scape
Seeming so barren, deadly.
Looking over the black river
There’s a boy without a face.
A gun,
With my hands
Squeezing the light out
To dream that dream again
Clocking out
I try to plunge back into dormancy
Forcing my eyes closed

My 1st palindrome. Not exactly perfect, but I like the effect. Inspired by The Masked Pimpernel (though nowhere near as good.)

Balancing are details
When we analyze life in
Simple tasks those become harder
And feel overwhelms
Reminding that power is
Tenacious
Is power that reminding overwhelms
Feel and harder become those
Tasks simple in life
Analyze we
When details are balancing

Timid and shy make
Anxieties risen when
Everything falls out of order
Tell the mind to calm down
Observed what's around
Perception
Around what's observed
Down, calm to mind
The tell order of out
Falls everything when
Risen anxieties make shy and timid

Meet to ruthless capture
To resistance lively and bold

Careful best are words
Listening and thinking
Consideration for safety
Brings happiness and light
In darkest of holes
Illuminating
Holes of darkness in
Light and happiness
Brings safety for consideration
Thinking and listening
Words are best careful

Done I was;
tea, shirt stained
by lost time
now forgotten buys
all done,
gone but not forgotten
life
Forgotten not, but gone.
Done, all
bye’s forgotten now,
time lost by
stained t-shirt
Was I done?

Sharon Carpenter Mar 2014
She never noticed the love He offered
She never knew His Heart
He wanted more of Her
What She performed wasn’t enough
She just never spent time in His Presence
Doing all the right things
She had tried to please Him
but yet...
Saddest words ever
“I never knew You”
Now read the lines backwards... I saw someone else had shared a poem that could be read forward and backwards not too long ago.  So I decided to try it too.  Its harder than it sounds :)
