She screams and begs for mercy
Bleeding on the floor
The world stops, now she moves on
reverse haiku. Think of this in a Noir movie vibe. Not many words exchanged. Just sweet amd to the point.

Black raindrops
Dyeing everything they touch
In a delicious shade of sadness
Even the roses
Dead
Black
Fading
Drawing life from everything they touch
Recollections of the days we have lost
They’ve all left us
Alone
Cold
We too shall drown
Drown in our raindrops and roses
That’s all we’re given
And it’s all we have
The clouds
Watching
As we stand
Bullet in hand
Will I become the rose
Or will you?
part one of three in a series i´m yet to name
any ideas?

La porte qui claque
A creusé un trou
Plus noir que noir
Dans le silence
De ta mémoire.

Le silence qui frappe -
Qui luit partout -
Quand vient le soir,
Il plaie les panses
Et te rend fou.

Ces plaies ouvertes
Se taisent et pleurent;
Le vacarme discret
Te couvre de secousses
Et disparaît.

Enveloppé dans tes draps,
La lumière devenue ligne,
Une porte entre-ouverte -
Tu voudrais qu'elle t’explique
Cet état d'alerte.

Le temps fait violence
Mais s'apaise comme le vent.
Très vite tu t'endors,
Et les mots se font tendre
Arrivé à bon port.

La veille se couvre d'un voile
Enroulé sur tes nuits.
Toujours l'éclat de noirceur
Qui alors t'attaqua
Luira sur ta vie.

I passed you on a stairway

Somewhere back in time,

I just had to make you mine!

You tried to take me your way

Up where the skies are blue,

I had other plans for you…

You wanted to go towards the light,

I dragged you down into the night

Through depths of dark despair.

Welcome home to the devil’s lair.

I pushed and you fell

Down the stairway to hell…
These words came from a song the lead character in my book "Wychwood" is listening to. They mirror her life unravelling as she reflects on her abusive husband who has a heart forged in a foundry of darkness  ...

By the light of a fire burning bright

The Lady sought love in the night

Desire ignited within her dark eyes

She went to him with innocent guise

In his chamber her Lord did wait

With his black heart full of hate

After Hearts and bodies did entwine

He gave her a goblet of ruby wine

The venom brought her to the floor

He told his wife he loved her no more

It was another who set him aflame

He was callous and without shame

As the poisoned wine her life did take

A final promise she did make

Beyond the grave, his cruel crime

He would rue until the end of time
When I write short stories they often begin life as a flow of words as the seeds of an idea engenders...Wine of Desire touches on themes I like to explore-love, loss, betrayal. This little piece became "Candlenight" the tale of Lords and Ladies long ago and the ghost of Lady Leonora who walked within her castle walls seeking to avenge her ******, having met her demise at the hands of her adulterous husband and his mistress Sibylla, versed in the dark arts with a strong desire to be rid of her rival.

Jamin Hollis has her residence in The Garden.
In The Garden, in the bloated blocks of Transit Town.
Behind the day shelter, beside the corner store.
Across the parking lot of the thrift shop.
Beyond the fluorescence of the pharmacy.
Right there, just a hop and a skip from the trains.
Right there, just a scoot from the bus barn.

Jamin Hollis is a rampant ***** and she needs,
she needs to die.

Jamin Hollis is a rampant ***** and indeed,
she'll die tonight.

Wait for the streetlights to dot the immediate sky.
Most of them are dead or flickering in the blocks.
Wait for the junk rats to leave for the metro line.
Most of them are dead or flickering.
If any open eyes remain on the sidelines, take a breath.
Collect your nerve and toss a penny on the pavement.
The eyes will blind to the shine and they will prostrate.

Bow with a force enough to imbed gravel in the forehead.

Jamin Hollis is a rampant ***** and she needs,
she needs to die.

Jamin Hollis is a rampant ***** and indeed,
she'll die tonight.
