So messed up
So confused
Lost in my own head
Actions - not my own
******* over
Multiple times
By what was to be
My success
My life
I never knew
That life could be so difficult
Been declined and denied
Oh, too many times over
Set the world ablaze
Light it on fire
Burn the world
And savour the heat
Keep it in
Until finally it becomes
Too much
Then burst
And burn
And shine
Like a supernova

Don't come too close
I smolder without flame
Until you place your lips on mine
Set my world on fire; set me ablaze.
I warn you I may burn you
Not out of spite
But out of fear
Protect myself from the coal in our hearts
Together we may burn down anything that's near.
In early morning I cool down
From inferno to dimly lit flame
A flickering ember in the fireplace
A glow of warmth in the arms of you.

It was your fault,
That this happened,
That this sparked,
Its all your fault.

It really is,
No matter what you say,
No matter what happens,
Its all your fault.

For if you set a fire under me,
Expecting a petty spark,
You instead get a wild fire,
Its all your fault.

It won't disappear,
It won't die down,
Its all your fault.

It will only grow,
And start up new flames,
Its all your fault.

You wonder why its all your fault?
Well the answer is simple,
Its all your fault,
For setting me ablaze.
Clay Feet Jan 2015
You are the glowing embers in a comforting hearth,
Set ablaze by the murmuring draft of
Caressed anticipation, freed to rise
By caring hands from the core of your flame
To ignite the girth of my imagination.
