i.
every night
before i sleep
i pray that tomorrow’s forecast
will be cloudy.
you know,
when the sky is a clear blue
it’s most painful for me
because it reminds me
too much of your eyes

ii.
our love was not illicit
but you sure as hell made it feel that way
when you touched me like i was paraphernalia
and not person

iii.
i’m beginning to think
that i was some sort of mental illness
in your mind
because you never mentioned me
to other people

iv.
you know that feeling
when you can't remember
if something actually happened
or you just dreamed it?
that's what it felt like
the first time you said you loved me

v.
when you promised me the world
i shouldn’t have expected anything more
than a miniature globe

vi.
math always told me
that two negatives
make a positive
but i think
the two of us
may have proved
that theory wrong

vii.
i hope the sky
is not as clearly blue
as i am tomorrow
Dying love in a gilded cage,
Imprisoned by my pent up rage.
You never loved me, but neither did I,
The last gift you gave was the gift of goodbye.

my aim is to put a face on the faceless
making statements for wasted cases
i take myself into forsaken spaces
all for the sake to escape those places

a fate to make shapes out of shapeless
creating grace on pages as my basis
a campaign to replace the fake embraces
leaving the traces that no eraser erases

remember the days of when we were younger
we thirsted from birth and we hunted with hunger
running and laughing under skies of thunder
we were sisters and brothers in a world of wonder

The Wind

The wind that shakes the trees
Blows through my coat,
Lifts up the tails
As if to gloat;
"I am free."

The wind that beats these window panes,
The voice that calls this pain again;
"You're indignant to fate," they said.
But I cannot accept their breaded promisings,
My thoughtless relinquishings
Of lost, listless, loving tales
Grown stale in my thumping heartbeat
Beaten by stalling, broken, dreams.

The wind that shakes these trees,
Blows me away with the leaves.

we fell like the leaves
blew away in the wind
a warm heart only believes
that love will never end

i should have known
there would come a day
when the winds would blow
and birds would fly away

a bare branch heaves
swinging in the wind
there's no warm reprieve
the cold is setting in
PARNELL came down the road, he said to a cheering man:
"Ireland shall get her freedom and you still break stone.
an eerie song that sings of secret trysts,
of long lost love, of desolate despair
that climbs upon the ghostly midnight air,
where winter seas are bathed in cloudy mists.
and i am captivated by the cries
of melancholy winds and stormy waves
that sing around the lonely ocean caves
and drown the heavens with their lovelorn sighs.
a voice that whispered; "once i loved her so
that the wide sea could not keep us apart,
the sound you heard the beating of my heart,
or murmur of the tide, you'll never know."
as if the sea was haunted by a ghost,
who called my name along the weary coast.
