It's seeing your arm around them.
The caring,
The protection,
The comfort that surrounds the act.
It's watching you offer that to someone
Knowing it won't be me.
That's what kills me.

It's seeing your arms wrapped around them,
Giving your strength
And your warmth
To others.
I see you and them and it slams into me
And I have to look away,
Go away,
Before it hurts too much.

It's seeing you next to them,
Pulling them toward you
And praying that you don't try
To kiss them
In front of me.
That's what makes my eyes start to sting
And my breathing change
As I try not to cry.

It's watching you with them,
Seeing the smiles and laughter
Just looking and seeing how happy you are.
Seeing the comfort and warmth and security.
And I feel like I'm dying.
He's light.
He's what brightens my day,
My week,
My life.
He brings me warmth,
And comfort,
And security.
He's my light.
But he's also my darkness.
He gives me so much pain.
He can make things dim.
He can hide things from me,
Make me search for truth.
Bringing my mind down,
Till I'm enveloped in black
And I'm shaking
Sometimes with anger,
Sometimes with tears,
Alone in the night.
But then he'll bring me back.
"You have a nice smile."
"You're a great friend."
"Thank you."
And everything becomes so bright.
He can drive me into the dark corners of backstage,
And he brings me into the glow of a center stage spotlight.
He's my light
And he's my darkness.

You belong to her, not me
When she's gone you can hardly breathe
She's all you could ever need
Each word crushes my lung
Makes my stomach hurt
You long for her smell, her touch, her every detail
So when you're gone, missing her across sea
I'll be missing you, hoping to wake up from this dream
He handed her a locket to cherish all they could be
On one side she had a picture of herself
On the other read "good luck"
If you were the moon then she was the ocean
Like spring tides, when the moon is full
The high tides are very high
And the low tides are very low

We never know how high we are
Till we are asked to rise
And then if we are true to plan
Our statures touch the skies—

The Heroism we recite
Would be a normal thing
Did not ourselves the Cubits warp
For fear to be a King—
These winds that blow
Turn me upside down
Abroad from the ocean
And from the ground

I've seen my shares
Of ups and downs
How quick our life
Can turn around

Along this life
We sometimes fly
Always wanting
Just to fly

When your with me
I'm free
I'm careless
I believe

Lord you bring
Tears to my eye's

How the sun shines
With rays of your life

I close my eye's
Begin to pray
For my life today

You give me hope
You make me want to stay

The feelings I get
Are the reasons I pray

You bring me life
You make me understand
Your the only one
Who understands
