Thank you all for your support
I take strength from your words
and from knowing that I was heard
and that means others will be heard as well
So for that
Thank you
Sleeping
Shuddering
Shaking**

Hold me,
Darling.
To keep me from flying.
Remind me,
Darling.
Of the way back.
Save me,
Darling.
From the demons.
Touch me,
Darling.
Reignite the embers of you.
Sometimes I need reminding of the warmth others provide

I still have the picture in my head
Of that Sunday morning
I found your hanging body
                                  s

Ever softly, as if  to say
I'd missed my chance to save you
By only a heart beat

This nightmare can't be true
There's no way that was you
With a rope wrapped tightly around
The throat I use to kiss
Those fibers robbing the color
From my favorite lips.

For those who've lost a loved one to suicide
I ask you "Who's your favourite"?
You pause for a second
Then you start thinking and search for an answer
And you say "You"
But you already lost me there when you paused
I thought your love for me had no clause
But no matter what, you are my only favourite
I wonder
How it would have been like if you had stayed
Would your parking spot would have been the same
Would your rustic tool box would have been in the shed
Or would an old copy of your favorite Tom Jones tunes,
would have played over and over
Every Sunday morning

It’s the little things we pondered the most
When hitting the ceiling
But we tried it in silence
Allowing the good times to simmer
No time to refine the conceptual mind
Patterns are formed, developed,  defined.
Look within and you should find
Who bares the fruit at the end of the vine

Is reaching the pinnacle of perpetual life redefined
Worth the risk of committing a crime?
Go, hide away.....
Run for cover.....
You can get what's been lost some other time

In the shadows as in the light
You still shine
Like a shooting star, afar, on a cloudless night
Past the moon, so soon, so bright

If you deny, it's a lie, not the truth
From all we were taught and we learned in our youth
All alone or in a group
Everywhere that you look there is proof

He who climbs the tallest tree
Has the rights to the fruit
Whether he's disheveled,
Or in a suit
Eye on the prize, worlds collide
No dispute.
If you get something out of my writing, then it was worth writing.

And when I knew the passage
I knew no fear
No bitter taste
The rainfall paved ricochets of bootheels saw to that

I knew no smell
Of losing my breath, nor
A shiver of cold down
My spine bared.

Coming out the other side,
The street felt the same
But I
No, I did not.
A thought on taking the small steps towards lingering challenges.
