The simplicity of rhymes
freely flows
through the readers mind.
As simplistic words unravel
in an array of poetic babble
we channel
the memes of our muses.

No forced word can capture,
no college can teach
the aesthetics of laughter,
the glamour of grief.

The essay of brilliance
awaits in the zone.
The Muse and the Master
in the hearts of gold.

Do not make me laugh.
My bedsheets are ******
In my tired, ruddy hands,
So red and dry from the
Salty tears staining them;
And I fear I cannot lift my
Head, let alone look you
In the eyes—do not make
Me smile, only sit with me
In the wallowing silence
Of a wound trying to heal.
I hide away
from a place
you won’t
find me…

I can’t find
myself through
my words
when I’m hurt—
I’m scared.
when you
ask me
if I’m ok

I wish I could
define my
emotions—
I’m drowning
in the ocean,
stuck in the
shattered
moment

But instead
I pretend
and say
“I’m fine”

Sometimes life leads
Occasionally, we follow.

But today becomes yesterday
And quickly turns tomorrow.

Time is fluid,
it always flows.

In the path of least resistance.

Always forward, never to return.

And so we swim,
like salmon up a river.

Trying to get back to some,
 something or other.

To a beginning not remembered.
To some end, to forever.

Back to that shallow pool of humanity,
only to flounder there and die.

Like the salmon,
who's life begins and ends in the same place.

Who knows how far we could go.

If we had only learned
  to go with the flow.
Feeling philosophical, or maybe just too many beers. lol

Heroes, this time of
   Year, not hard
        to Spot.
Ringing a bell, over
     a red ***.
Getting a toy, for
    an unknown, Tot.
Passing out food
   In a parking Lot.
Dipping out a dinner
  filling and Hot.
Supplying a needed
  sleeping Cot.
The heroes, who have,
   serving the
         Have- not.
Still, a great Country
    we've, Got!

Make sure the fit
Is not too tight,
Or you may forget
It's there in the night,
Blurring wrong and right.

Remove the mask,
Let your soul be bare.
No need to ask—
Just show you care.

Hold someone close,
Feel their beating heart.
Life's truest moments
Need no guise or art.

This time of year,
When trees go bare
And snow covers our ground,
I come down
With a seasonal disease...
Weeks prior to Christmas Eve.

The onset is a distant twinkle
Shimmering in the deep;
That gives me such a nuanced twitch...
I itch to hang a wreath.

And when I sneeze,
I'm joyfully pleased
To shop for such and stuff.
I horde it in a secret place,
Then worry I've not enough.

When my muscles get tired and weak,
My back gets bent and sore,
When my body starts to sweat...
I await the seasonal cure.

I'll run a fever, hullucinate,
Take to my bed and wait.
Don't present me meds,
Don't ring me up a nurse,
I'll protest and rave.
This winter ailment,
This gifting curse,
My present proclivity,
Will only break
Come Christmas morn.
Oh Come, Oh Come Nativity.
