You were willow trees and
Ice lollies on sunny days
You were yellow shorts and
Grinning at nothing

Now you're blurry memories and
Feeling full of regret
Now you're wooden masks and
Smuged charcoal pictures

The seasoned changed and
Rain washed the rose tint away
I was left with cold truths and
Sunshine didn't taste so good

Anymore.
I know why the caged bird sings.

It's not because his song
is as vibrant
as his feathers, that he plucks away
each day because he doesn't
feel beautiful.

It's not because of the majesty
that exist in the freedom
of being able to spread his wings
though he knows
he'll never rise to the occasion.

He sings because he believes
that this cage
was made for a king
because he has never tasted
freedom with a side order of skies.

He's never flown past the sun
on a cool morning
or hung with the moon
on a warm night.

He's only ever known
the comfort of a prison
that his thoughts have
become accustomed
to calling home.

He would never venture
beyond the "welcome" mat
because what's beyond the threshold
holds no promise
the way these bars and metal locks do.

He sings because he knows
that no one is listening
so if he makes a mistake
he doesn't have to live with the regret
or embarrassment of knowing that he missed his note.

The caged bird
never believes that he's caged
because behind these walls
he's safe
and he prefers it this way.

I know why the caged bird sings.
A twist on a title by one of my favorite authors...
Standing Firm upon the Truth spoken From Christ.

For His Truths , by Far outweigh in Wisdom and Truth.

More than the rest of those spreading their own truths.

Because their truth and wisdom is not always truth nor wisdom.

Christ the Son God knows the Truth and He created all Wisdom.

So when you hear him Speak , believe and know that you are blessed.

For anytime that he speaks to anyone it is a time to Listen to it.

For he is trying to teach us a lesson and we better hear it out too.

So always have your ears open to what the Christ has to tell you.
I fell down earlier today and my arm is hurting keep me in your prayers.

I will give you a list houses
that once used to be my home
and addresses that are the only memory
that has not been blurred
or manipulated by my mind.
If you ever want to find me,
go there.

You will see the line of trees that
framed my sunrise
and almost dry riversbeds of
round white stones, where
I slipped once (or more).
You will see the duststorms,
and the heavy rains
I stood in.
You will see the the intersections,
I could never quite cross.
But all this you see,
is not me.

If you want to find the ‘me’,
‘me’ that I do not know of,
that I cannot give you,
go there.
And look for windows I sat by.
Look for the cold floor I lied on.
Sit there and think of a girl
who never felt quite like a person,
who could look at what lay ahead
and know
that neither the path, nor the journey was hers.
Who only wanted a room flooded with
gentle light of drowning sun,
and songs that could make her sadness beautiful.
truckin is my freedom it sets my spirit free
makes me feel alive wakes the soul in me
rolling here and there to every different town
from early morning light till the sun goes down.

travel every place each and every road
each and every state delivering my load
with the moon above lighting up the night
stars scattered all around as they shine so bright

with the sense of freedom that makes me feel so free
the quiet of the night as peaceful as can be
driving through the wind and the rain and snow
big wheels rollin round as fast as they can go

travellin  every place working for my pay
each and every state miles and miles away
stopping at the trucks stops give my self a treat
have myself a rest grab a bite to eat

head on once again travel every road
each and every place delivering my load
driving every state across the usa
driving anywhere working for my pay

rolling here and there to every different town
from early morning light till the sun goes down
with the sense of freedom there inside of me
wakes my soul inside sets my spirit free
