All it takes is a sharp word
pressed softly
against the semantic membrane,

And suddenly

Sometimes
When you carry the figurative
weight of the world
on metaphorical shoulders
By some semantic glitch
Your all-too-real lower back
takes a hit.

If the universe paused in affection
at every blissful death
for every restless life
It would drown inside a teardrop
implode around a frown

no

when She dies
blissfully, from a restless life
and ripples of time are held suspended
along the contours of her smile
It will simply be the universe pausing

for effect.
It was written in stone
With celestial chisel
That they walk the path of sin
Reined by the rings of Hell--
Much like a planet
Waltzing in captivity.
What could they turn to
Beyond the drift of revelation
Trickling through the wake of Time.
And I, the so-called progeny
Of such cursed matrimony,
Have myriad of times
Rebelled against
unwanted imprisonment,
Have resorted to
many uncanny schemes
To tear down the bars of legacy
Alas, i have come
To a stupefying standstill
Stood and swallowed
The demons of my waywardness
Oh, how those demons kept me alive
At every destructive yet
ecstatic turn.
How to separate God and Devil
Impossible!
The promise of descension looms
In every game of darkness
The Light above blooms
Every hue of divine harness.
In mystifying ocean of thoughts
Which way to walk, to run
Humanity seems the only savior.
A forbidden fruit
Unleashed the human race
The fable of original sin.
"To err is human to forgive divine"
by Alexander Pope
why weren't our original ancestors forgiven?
Imagine the night sky was made for us
Shimmering stars blanketing the darkness
Glimmer of hope and wonder

Imagine the sunrise was created for us
Day begins anew
Uplifting light bringing happiness

Imagine the world was meant for us
Possibilities immeasurable, limitless
Strong alone but invincible together
Lay here under the old oak tree
Stare up at its gnarly, crooked limbs
Feel the breeze grace upon your skin

Lay here in the thick grass
Gaze up at the clouds
Sunlight warm against your face

Lay here among the crisp red leaves
Watch the birds dance in the air
Hold my hand, I whisper in your ear

Let’s lay here and forget everything
Floating on an inner tube
Just above the falls
Never mind the current
The joy of summer calls.

Sometimes the now is more important than the later.
I hurt four people
So I could be wounded by two.

I thought it was a bargain at the time
But I forgot the service charge and fees.

Never was very good at math.
