I wage war
That's never been seen before
Is sanity worth fighting for?
I'm not really sure

Insanity?
A calamity?
I call it individuality!

Who is Society
To create this hypocrisy?!?
It seems like such a tragedy
To waste such ingenuity
To dull the creativity

Love
We joke that with the way we live
We're going to hell
But it's not joke
It scares me to death
And I can see it in your eyes
You're scared too
We're all going to hell in the end anyways.
the few friends I have are not
fearful for the thought of hell
but instead embrace it, the rot
that comes with it, the smell
that would bother some matters not to them.
They are ready to go, because they are
going to hell just for being themselves.
Why would they go to hell for that?
Well because of a book wrote by man,
in the name of god.

The misinterpretation of these words
cause such a debate, the same words
did not allow slaves human rights
justified hatred of other "races".
These words let jews be massacred by a German,
let crosses be burned and people whipped by
the "white man". Let burning of countless
innocent women occur.
LET people forget the one race
that we all are, human.

So people why do we not forget the man
written words and follow the true divinity of them?
Pray to your god, and worship his son, and embody
the holy ghost, is this too hard of a task for such devout Christians?
So I have been wanting to write this for a while because i find Christians killing and not allow human rights to people because of words a man wrote and then another man misintrepreted. The bible is a holy text and I am a Christian, but I do believe that the bible has parts of it that are not interpreted  the  way god intended it to be.
We believe scars are weaknesses.
They are not, they shouldn’t be.
They should be prizes and trophies
To hang on walls and dust everyday
And when someone comes over you can say,
“Look, I was there. I tried, I fought,
and I survived. I lived.
I am alive.”

I'm afraid I'll end up living a small life,
in a small place,
and my small dreams
are just what remain.
That when I'm decaying somewhere
far underground and returning
to where I began
All I'll be is a small memory
in just another brain.
The words I've scribbled (or typed)
will all be long gone.
the people I made smile
will be all far away.
I'm afraid of when
my small spirit starts to fade.
I am just sad and hopeless. -.-

God
When I was young, my Sunday school teacher said that my prayers lacked genuine emotion. She told me to try praying with a blanket wrapped around myself and my eyes shut to imagine that God was there holding me.
I always wondered why God wouldn’t actually hold me. I still do.
And I know that I have a lot of expectations of God for someone who doesn’t believe in God but my hope has been so hard to let go of.
But if we are made in his image, why should anyone let their hopes get so high?
Do you know how to keep a stranger from crying?
Do you know how to mend the bullet shaped holes in your mother’s voice? Of course not.
Do you know how to end a war?
Do you know how to be content?
Do you know how to be happy?
I imagine that sometimes God gets unhappy.
If we are made in his image I can only hope that he continues to evolve as we do, allow his followers to evolve as the world around us does because I swear I will lose my **** if I see one LGBTQ+ youth commit suicide. If I see another woman get kicked out of her church for aborting the child she couldn’t afford to raise. If I see one more country start a war over what they believe; God, can you see?
You’re tearing us apart.
You’ve turned humanity into a human race.
You’ve turned our earth into a military base.
So please, God, give us something to trust. Give us your saving grace.
This is supposed to be a spoken word piece, hopefully it won't sound too off
