Sparkling wine and sparkling smile,
new fashion and new car,
a house and new gadgets to show,
a veneer that shines and glows,
underneath lies more,
unsettled and unknowing,
we show a reflection of not what is true,
a fabrication of our discomfort,
a fear of not belonging,
for the truth lies not in mankind,
but in the nature that surrounds us.
It is hard to be natural.

An ordinary man
Ya know I'm just a ******* ordinary man
Cut me some slack
I grind I grind for miles
I'm just an ordinary man
Keeping it straight
Cut me some slack
Just a ******* ordinary man
Real enough
For you for me
A beer here or there
Cut me some slack
Just an ordinary man
Maybe more
Maybe less
Smoke this and that
Yeah cut me some slack
What's up with you
Flyin straight
Enough for me and for you
Just cut me some slack
I'm just an ordinary
Ordinary man
I work I play
I get it
Responsibility
For you for me
Cut me some slack
Just straight up
An ordinary man
Yeah that's it just straight up an ordinary man.

When angers courses and boils through our trembling veins,
We seek to find the source,
Outward we look hither and yon,
Frantically pursuing ever thinning threads,
Through frustration we limit our search to those we project to,
Yet inward we find the cause of our muddle,
There deep inside our mind attached to our spine,
Where the darkness of generations past resides,
Pulling threads to hard to see,
Lies the truth,
If we are to grow then inward we must go.
Why do we get angry?

It runs through my mind like all the time,
Going this way and that,
What is up and what is left is to much,
If I think right I might lose,
If I go down I go far,
Why go anywhere at all?
When all I have is here,
Right inside my mind.
What is rumination? What is its purpose? Is there a purpose?

Shifty Mac an Irish drunk,
He plies his trade with *****,
Be it beer scotch or skunk,
He imbibes the lot by the trunk,
Shenanigans he presents to those he punk,
He doth no monk,
He stumbles and gropes till a thunk,
A smack a cross the lips for this drunk,
On the floor he lay as the sun hath sunk,
He arise by the light of dawn on his bunk,
Oh how he flunked.
A character.

It doesn't matter,
We are not who we think we are,
All context is apparent in the physical world,
Our being is defined to others by our presence,
Yet internally we are defined by thought,
This illusion is a manifestation of ours and other's perceptions,
Yet reality is not so virtual,
We are just energy,
Subatomical vibrations in an endless universe,
We are all just a part of the glorious birth,
The universe exists as it was and is now,
That is what matters.
I think.

Watchin box,
What do I see,
Depends on the time you tune in,
Formulaic crap or something you haven't seen,
How experienced you are,
Well that determines how you view,
Thee.
