I should have known how
You would hurt me
For you are sculpted
Like a knife
No sense in an artificial sunset
So I paint my ceilings into space
No sense in this progression
So I bow for time displaced
No roots for a sound foundation
So I make room for flight
No time for a world's creations
So I paint my day into night
Have you seen me?
I've been gone for a while
I died last week while you were away
Nothing left but my empty body for you to scream at
Have you ever seen you?
I've been piercing the air with my pain
How do you not notice how I feel
Gone without a trace
Were you ever there
Did you ever love me?
I loved you more than my next breath
Did you see me?
When I finally realized who I was and who I am?
It's okay if you didn't
Because it has nothing to do with you anymore
You can say you don't care
Or wish me away,
But I'll always notice your stare
When you really want me to stay.

Just go through the day
Pretending that everything is fine,
Just keep resisting to say
That you wish you were mine.

I know you want your feelings
To be hidden away,
But please then allow me to say;

You are my free verse love poem,
Not the rhyme,
Not the theme,
Not the time,
Nor the sceme.

You're my breath
Your my beat
You're my smile
And my C4.

You make me want more;
Love to give to you,
Smiles to return.
Heartbeats to increase.

You make me want more,
More than C4.

You are my free verse love poem,
Oh I'm so glad
That I know him.
I wrote this for him to know he's my everything, and I really am glad to know him. Just him.

All of these words
Ever present in my mind
And all of you
A gift my heart cannot contain
For dreams are lucid
And tears fabricated
And my hearts only desire
Is to lay down in your arms
But here I find myself
On the ground
Strewn among the roses
It is not romantic
But it is sweet, and sickly
All at once
To be in your mind
And as I wander
The corridors of your mind
Knocking on doors
Slipping into your thoughts
I cry.
For I know
This is where I belong
And to you I will always return
My thoughts run
Out of my ears
And intertwine into yours
Will we ever end?
I know that we will die
That is for sure
But an end?
To be love we have
Is in foreseeable in my sky

If this train went off the rails just as I was saying, "I love you,"
and the clanging noise caused you to hear, "I'm so far above you," instead, would you then go on to die regretting every previously treasured moment of our lives that we'd collectively spent on the off-chance that I'd been a pretentious ***** the whole time?

If I went broke before you could cash the check that I wrote in order to fix your broken childhood home - the one that your parents still live in and stand to lose if this check doesn't clear - because of some completely unpredictable market fluctuation/bank identity theft error,
would you hold me accountable for it?

If you counted every syllable in every sentence that I spoke on your half-birthday and it didn't add up to your age divided by one-third of the time it takes for your ruling planet to circumnavigate the solar system, would you then find our relationship to be some kind of gross horror?

If I walked away right now, while you were in the middle of asking me some ridiculous out-of-context question with no consequence, would you think it's because of some kind of insecurity or cowardice?
Don't answer that.
