I never knew that I love you meant I'm lying until I fell for you
How did you not choke on the words as they spilled over your lips over and over again
All I asked for was love but what I got was kisses laced with poison and the bitter taste of you that still lingers on my lips

Desperately clinging to the hope that you care like you say you do
But I've learned words mean nothing
They are just pieces that we hold on to
Desperately clinging & grasping trying to put the pieces back together
Despite that I know In the end everything that has commenced to come together falls apart

That's why it's called falling in love
When you fall down
You scrape your knee or break a bone
Sometimes the scars last forever
The wounds are evidence of the battle you fought
The one you tried so hard to win
But in the end despite your best intentions
You lost
Now all you have are those scars
Every time you glance at them the pain from the memories creep back in and settle in your bones

— The End —
