The night is young
and I am stung
with the unsung
melodies from my lungs.

Drifting is the moon
like a silver spoon.
She begins to swoon
to my icy tune.
night constantly inspires me to write.

What if:

The trees could talk
All  flowers walk
Cats did dance
Dogs pranced in pants
Fishes gave kisses
Fairies granted wishes
Smiles blew bubbles
Never had troubles
The sun rayed rainbows
Lions were mellow
We all wore halos
Babies sang solos
We spoke in rhymes
Are faces did shine
Monkeys wore polka dots
While doing the foxtrot
Money grew on trees
Chocolate kisses always free
Every morning the sky said hello
We swim or float in lakes of Jello

I look out of my window, what do I see
crows congregating, cawing at me.
Capricious by nature with their noisy behavior,
shouting, come quick! there's cake for our tea.
I feed the birds daily and magpies and crows do regular flyovers to check ,they waste no time alerting the rest of their clan that food is served.
This is a poem for BLT'S challenge for word of the day. The word is  capricious.

the eternal battle between light and dark has been a source of inspiration for artists & musicians & writers since time immemorial

light and dark allow us

to treasure the artist's glittering painting
to reflect on the author's lyrical words
to swim through the musician's vast symphony

to explore deep ravines of intense emotion
to float on gossamer dreams
to be wonderfully alive
to be wonderfully human
