"do you ever stop and think about me?"

-----------------------------------------------------

my mind is constantly racing
thinking about all of the colours that
you're creating
i keep coming up with all these
different scenarios
like how you'd be coming up the
stairs having eyes just for me
or how you'd catch me watching you
watch me
i keep wondering about all the
possible meet ups that we could have had
the one off chances of a crazy maybe
love
but then my mom would bring me back to
reality
and i would suddenly be reminded of
the things that'll never be
something old

"Time will heal you",
is what they always say
Whenever you're hurt
and in so much pain

As time passes,
as the memories turn grey
The pain subsides
but never goes away

As time continues,
battle scars add up
You feel like quitting
but you never give up

Time will stop,
things will be better
No more agony,
only joy and laughter

Where am I going?
What's there that's not here?

Here is now.
And now is gone.

But I'm still here
And not there.
Since when did a number define our importance?

The number of likes on a photo, the number of retweets on a tweet or even the number of followers you have.

All of these mean nothing in the grand scheme of things but to people today these numbers define who we are as if they tell us our self-worth.

We are a society addicted to technology and are constantly trying to prove to others that we are cool or trying to fit in.

Do not let a number define you. Enjoy who you are and be what you want to be. You do not need a screen or an app to tell you what you or who you should be.

Numbers don't define you. You define yourself.
