Give me a minute
To read the stars
Lamenting in their stories
Their laboured twinkling far and sparse

Give me this moment
To stumble and swoon
My branches reaching for
The faraway moon

Give me a while
To be one with the universe
Hear the colliding planets
As they spill their mournful verse

Give me some time
To plot my rightful place
Within my uncharted galaxy
And collapsing space...

You're like an alien to me,
Distant but in the same galaxy.
You come and go as you please,
Leaving markings on my ground.
You pull me into your UFO -
Torture me as an experiment.
But I am still so completely
Drawn to the idea of you.
I want to discover you
And see inside of you
For the first time.
I want to know what
You have to offer
On a planet far away.
I wonder -
Could your world be
A perfect match to mine?
Or are we too distant and different
To be side by side
Without judgement or confusion,
Without hatred or being pushed away.
Or would we be a perfectly imperfect,
******* up and unaccepted
Match in this galaxy?

Once there was a little bird
With nothing left at all
All alone stuck on the ground
The bird just felt...so small

So the bird began to walk
Till the old nest was out of sight
It didn't have the strength anymore
To stand up for itself and fight

After walking for forever
It found another nest
But decided to keep walking
It didn't want to be a pest

But there was someone in the nest
That kindly invited the bird to stay
And though the bird was cynical
It thought "well maybe just today"

The day turned into a week
That week turned into two
And before the bird realized it
All its problems slowly withdrew

Its feathers gradually grew back
And its wing slowly began to heal
The more time it spent in this new nest
The more living here seamed ideal.

The bird got its confidence back
And once again it could soar
It flew around with its new friends
And sang louder than before

Once there was a little bird
As happy as could be
It soared up in the sky all day
Home at last...and free
This morning....almost an entire year later, I came up with a sort of happy alternate ending/continuation of my poem "Flightless" and just kinda had to write it down.
I still love flightless as a stand alone poem exactly the way it is....but I feel like this alternative ending/part two also ties it up nicely and like sends a good message and whatnot, so I felt the need to write it and share it. Anyways, hope you all like this similar stand alone poem/continuation/Alternate ending? lol

She held my hand
And dried my tears.
Comforted me
And eased my fears.
Yet now she struggles
To remember my name.
God is playing
A cruel game.
She's not here,
But she's not dead.
The future fills
My heart with dread.
She lives in her memories,
Trapped in the past.
The illness has taken over
So fast.
But I smile with her
And lend my ear
Because one day she
Will no longer be here.

In a silent night,
I can hear the fast beating of my heart
I thought it's going to explode
My hands are shaking,
my body's trembling
Am I going to die?
I like you and that's not a lie
They say 'the truth will set you free'
But telling the truth crushed my soul
Hades pulled me from underground
I toss and turn in bed,
My thoughts went wrong
I listen to some sad songs
Feels like my world is falling apart
I just want to drift away
so when I open my eyes,
I'll be okay.*

I could blow to smithereens
the wealth of the rich
could play a rob-in-hood
**** and steal
to give the poor a fair deal
could hang all the glib talkers
from the highest post
feet up head down
publicly displayed in the town
break the iron walls
bulldoze the palaces
pull them down from the throne
where I sent them
put an end to their dastardly game

but this mind’s wrath
this hand’s gun
can’t pop even one bullet
can only ink
a dawn pink emotion

of Revolution.

When tears drown you down
Do not let sadness escape
Make art with the pain
Destruction shall be your muse
Till you rise above the sea.

My pages blown from my
Grasp
They fly high as like
Small clouds,
Riding The winds, I reach
For that which is unattainable
Now far out of reach,
I run,
Then sprint
Then walk
As my hands now upon my knees,
Out of breath as well as paper
They flew, up and down
In to the face of an unsuspecting
Man, words he saw before he
Fell upon hands and face,
Paper removed a title seen
"The Accidental Meeting"
He looked up, and beheld
Beauty,
Smiles,
Hand,
Held out, blushing he took
Her hand, and she spoke
"If it wasn't for that page"
"We wouldn't have meet & spoke"
And the story kept a keep sake
Of there meeting that nearly wasn't,
"But ahead of ourselves we are"
As other pages
Flew,
Skimmed,
Fluttered
Through the air,
Landing upon faces here and there,
One unfortunate crook, who now
Paid a price, when paper meet upon his face,
He saw three word planted between his eyes
Crooks
Never
Prosper
And with that an almighty
"****"
To the floor he slumped,
A short post meet groin and man
As a voice high pitched,
"What paper is this landing between my eyes "
As three laughing police man
Tears before there eyes, took the paper
And glanced at became the undoing
Of a criminal on the run,
"Evidence and a good read"
Lifted to the car as
Nuts
Meat
&
Veg
Very bruised, he couldn't run even if he wanted,
Many pages flew through the air, me
Not knowing the impact my stories
Landing  here & there,
By those are for another time,
"If you see paper, words & ink"
*"Please read my stories and tell me what you think"

For all the time I've know you
You've worn a mask upon your face
It appeared beautiful, perfect, and friendly
But now I realize that wasn't the case

For hiding underneath that mask
Was a soldier bent on destruction
Posing as a comrade fighting for good
But following the other side's instruction

You wormed your way into our ranks
And we accepted you as one of our own
But all of us were unaware
Your true intentions had not yet been shown

When an opportunity presented itself
You struck without any hesitation
Our troops started dropping left and right
Without any sign of infiltration

You knew you only had so long though
Before your actions got you caught
So you moved to abolish your final target
A tougher task than you had thought

That night, when you attacked me
You allowed your mask to fall
And as you fled, I caught a glance
Of the real person beneath it all

Well, "What doesn't **** you makes you stronger"
And you make me tougher every day
Which is why no matter what you do
I refuse to let you stand in my way

I learned some valuable lessons
About how you fight this war
And now those same old boring tactics
Won't work here any more

So thank you for the knife
That you embedded in my back
For you just gave me the tool I need
To defend against any future attack.
