Agnes de Lods
How could I shield myself from the words
that lift me into the highest lowness?
Dearly beloved, raw openness,
the source of my grace and imperfection.

I feel strangely weightless
when my precognition
whispers to me about my possible future.
I hush all my names,
they’re not statues carved
by the thoughts of others.

I watch people drift in and out,
I touch the tree leaves in the cold wind.
Looking tenderly into the eyes of black ravens
I just try to see what they see.

I don’t fear the dark,
the primal womb that gives light
and birth to worlds spread across space.
Losing someone I love is my only fear.
Death comes uninvited, in its own time.

Love is my helpless, naked truth.
My moral compass still works
in my body.
At night, I find sleep and rest.
In light, the warmth,
and the souls of others.

I see the tired hearts
I find solace, looking into the light.
The body brings fleeting fullness.
I gather the crumbs of mystery,
expecting nothing,
just enough to find my dignity
and make peace with the unreachable.

Swans in love enchant
Upon the lake blue mist parts
Nature spirits wake

Don’t be alarmed
if evil blooms
where you sowed
your gentlest good.

Not all earth
welcomes roots
some soils rot
what should have stood.

So plant with love,
but learn the ground,
for even light
can be misunderstood.
A reflection on misplaced effort, toxic environments, and the wisdom of discernment.
You promised
A lifetime of poetry
Just to leave without
A single line
So I search for them in stollen verses...

I rhyme to pass time;
for no particular reason,
just my own personal pleasing.

8 years since you moved on
It's still so hard to believe, you're gone
I want to know how you're doing,
I want to believe you're somehow around me

The child inside me, often bangs on my heart
She always thought someday we'd restart.
Fate is such a strange thing
I don't know what you were here to teach me, if anything

Maybe it was to hold onto love even, if it's scary
Or to fall into change, I should be more daring?
I could ponder for longer, but I'll leave it at that for now.
I'll never forget you Ossie.
You were such a blessing to have in my life.

The moon trails behind,
a pale guardian on high
chasing fleeting feet.

I think wonder is the moon’s favorite language—and children are fluent. 🌙✨

Being kind isn't being weak,
Having mercy isn't weak,
Acknowledging the strength of others,
Is mercy and kindness,
And a brave person acknowledges the strength of others.

I want someone who wants me for me,
wholeheartedly.
to hold my hand in public spaces
never scared to let go
To kiss me in the rain because it sets me ablaze
I want to be loved loudly!! Never unsure.
A yearning love for the ages,
Written in the stars
I want you to look at me and proclaim my love. I want you, all of you! Oh, god, I do.
And all I ask of you?
Do you love me too?

We don't fight
With fists or guns
But with words;
Ideas, ideals and puns.
We are a movement, use your words for good!
