Poetry is my release of emotions,
Into a world of words where I feel understood.

Queen-of-night in bloom,
a lake holds our laughter still,
waterfall blushes.

For my best friend, J.
You're my queen of night. 💫

P.S.
Happy 17th to me!!! 🎂🧸🌷

I waited so patiently for years
Could drown in all the sorrows and tears
Used to flush out my poor heart
But still I waited...
Like a wife that sends her husband off to war
because I knew you were fighting off demons
Things that I could not see
It's not like the darkness ever evaded me
You never returned from that war
I was left to fend off my darkness alone
Shouldering life tragedies on my own
But even then I waited...
Even though some days
There wasn't even any hope
And yet I still waited...
I waited though totally exhausted
I began to chafe at all the waiting;
Patiently,
I sent out my light once again
Like only a lighthouse does
To help you find your way back
Amongst all the turmoil and shadow
All these things I then came to know
Your love could be reawakened to grow
and where I had waited so patiently
You and that love did return to me
and my patience was finally set free
This is an older poem that I had started many years ago and I reworked it to be more current. I don't think I ever shared this here I found it in my drafts and finally finished it.

Too long this rot has run its course, too much the damage done
When men deflect acknowledged glance, they know that wrong has won.
Across this land and far afield the wrongness seeps within
And pride becomes a memory through distant halls of spin.
How can we bow to tyranny, how can we shy away
From that which causes  eyes to slide.... and coaxes will to sway?
To tolerate the bombast, the bullying, the lies
Succumbing to a hopelessness, which, both we despise.
Division in the nation, uproar in between
A man and wife’s contention-ness beyond what should be seen
Brothers loathing brothers, silence in the room
Where a word  uttered wrongly can erupt to screaming soon.
Allies left in tatters, trust is cut to shards
Tariffs injudiciously, imposed to **** the cards.
International uproar, industry in strife
Teetering disastrously when NATO flees the knife.

Putin sits and rubs his hands, hilarious the show
Disorder and disharmony to lubricate his glow.
Beijing sits inscrutably, always opportune
Manoeuvring judiciously, in place, to call the tune.

America, the isolate, sails away to sea
Blondini, at the helm, wears smirk indulgently.

Equations
in the sand

Laid out
and toweling off

Curvatures to
algebraic form

They define her lines
shape her axis

My island of
expectation

Amid summer's long
subterfuge

The wonder of
A bird’s nest,
Their songs, so beautiful,
Put the mind to the test.
How do they know?

"Oh, instinct."

The mystery
Of electricity,
What is it, truly?

"Well, it’s just... electricity."

Have you caught
A stranger's gaze,
Felt a friend’s name rise,
Only for them to call?
Yes! And?

"Coincidence."

Have you noticed –
No matter who’s in power,
The rich grow richer,
While the poor
Sink deeper?

"Are you a conspiracy theorist?"

All matter
Is merely energy condensed
To a slow vibration,
That we are all
One god consciousness
Experiencing itself subjectively,
There is no such thing as death

"Hippy ****"

And so we circle –
Words falling short,
Walls unbroken.
"All matter is merely energy condensed" is borrowed from a Bill Hicks show.

"Ah humans, the vein of their own existence when
it comes to the workforce,
Wouldn't be surprised if you made everyone work
by force,
Women used to get mad cause all the men made more,
And now a lot of women really don't want work anymore,
Black men in the hood , no matter how hard they try,
Still don't qualify for jobs , not daquan or levi,
I wonder why ? We've been oppressed for so **** long,
Might wanna' stay tuned , this is gonna' be a
conundrum.."

When his brother came under attack :
First he did nothing
Secondly he rejoiced in his distress
Third he took advantage of his vulnerable state
Fourth he joined in the violence against him

One reaps what he sews
One gathers in return what he has given
He heaps destruction like ashes upon his head
As he is standing he is as good as dead

There's spring and there's summer, there's all that's in between
no listless skies of anodyne; now nature flaunts and preens

What beauty fills the hungry eye 'neath a sky of blue, serene
verdant vales soaked in sun, awash in palettes of green

There are pastels that awaken and deep shades that passion brews
created hues that trickle...sprinkled with 'chartreuse'

There's the green of 'asparagus' and that of 'artichokes'
Of 'forest', 'ferns' , of 'moss', a brush of different strokes

Fragrant plants of 'mint', then 'myrtle' and 'green tea'
'Emerald', 'jade' or 'harlequin' and 'malachites' that be

Off creamy shells, just 'pistachio', 'green apples', then of 'pines'
It lies too in 'sap' and 'teal', in 'avocados' and tangy 'lime'

There's green of the 'mantis', in 'jungle', 'hunters' and 'shamrock'
The lithe 'parakeet' fluttering and the lazy sanguine 'croc'

In blessed 'basil', ' pickle', in 'pear', 'olives' in 'bottle green'
'Gourds' and 'peas' that farmers grow in cultivars pristine

'Tis there in 'aqua' and 'seaweed', in the ripple of 'sea green' waves
In 'turtles', 'sea foam', 'anemone' and a 'tropical glistening lake'

From 'laurel green' to an 'army green' , in 'sage' ( a shade of grey )
The color of 'grass' , the murky 'swamp' , hues in array

There's 'neon' and an 'Indian green', a 'Persian' one to mystify
A 'midnight green' to bright 'fluorescent', oh, for green rainbows in the eye
