Mountains take an eternity to tear down and build up, and yet confidence can be drawn from a well within minutes.  All one requires is time, while the other requires the desire.
Hmm.....

Freedom
Comes in many disguises
For some it's hard to find
It often leaves before one realises
And sometimes it is left behind

Freedom
Has different meanings to some
To me it is very clear
To some it is the Freedom to explore and roam
To me Freedom of speech is dear

Freedom
Should be everyone's right
Though it often is denied
Everyone should be free to live without fear or fright
Freedom is a precious commodity which should be everyone's pride

Freedom
Can be brutally taken
Governments are often the cause
It leaves the mind devastated and clearly shaken
Governments should rethink their  clauses and rewrite the laws

To ensure that everyone has the Freedom they had at birth
The Freedom they were born with upon this earth

The world is yours
And only yours
Not anybody else's
But the fact that you are not the only one in this world
Has made it the world of everyone

In fact
the unity consciousness
That experiences itself in everyone
Experiences the world of an individual
Sets an illusion
To the individual to argue
About it being his/ her only experience
It is the nature
Of the unity consciousness itself

What the truth actually is
Is the unity consciousness of an individual
A piece share of the inbound universal consciousness
Manifests itself
Throughout now
And eternity

Hello everyone,

I'm so very sorry … I feel horrible doing this, but I have no choice. You see, I have published my first book on Amazon/Kindle! This piece (and many others) had to be taken down because they do not allow published material to be available online for free. (Go figure) I wanted to leave the shell of the posts because I felt compelled to leave all your helpful and loving comments. (Silly sentimental, I know), but I also didn't want to just have the pieces disappear without an explanation. I feel bad enough as it is!

I owe ALL of you so, SO much for all of your reads, love, and support. It was YOU that gave me the gumption to FINALLY get off my **** and publish! Thank you all for the warm comments, camaraderie, and encouragement! I will still be here, reading, uploading and just being the Rascal that I am. How could I EVER leave you guys?

The book is called “The Way I See It – FictionPhilosophySoul Food” and it will be FREE for the first few days on Kindle Select, so watch for it, if you are interested. I hope that you go and grab it. If you do, I would also hope that you find it worthy, you would leave me a good review. That will help me get in the public eye! Soon afterward (2-3 days or so), it will be available in paperback.

Find the book(s) here: www.amazon.com/author/jeff.gaines

Or find the book(s), and all about me, here: www.JeffGaines.world

Soon after, I also hope to have my first novel (a supernatural thriller), called “Wanderer” available as well!

  Wish me luck!

                                Big, Biggest Love,

                                               Jeff Gaines
I was chatting online with a girl I'd met there, her online handle was "Ethereal", about how we all wear masks for different reasons and how that can sometimes be problematic or even damaging to ourselves and those
around us.

I read what I had just typed and couldn't believe it, I cut and pasted it into MS WORD and made it into this piece, ver batum. Oddly, that happened again in another online chat. I will post that piece here too, eventually.

The boughs of a placid embassy
fall flat when the citizens
become the crumbling pillars
that hold up the already fractured foundation.

in meadows finally released
from the cold grip of snow
spring flowers look so pleased
so happy they can grow

their leaves unfold
their shiny blossoms bring
bright colors back into our world
and make all birds sing spring

grumpy thumb
When the snow melted
it took chunks of the road in its thaw.
Potholes sunk
where the water slurpped
away the under-soil.
Silence left with the white
now more venture outside
overstocking supplies
"we'll n'er run out again,"
one swore.
And cats are back spraying,
and dogs barking in confusion.
And the crocus buds to remind me
nothing has really changed
in all this change
