It’s been a while
Since I have closely watched the birds
And heard their dawn chorus
It’s been a while since I have whiled away time in nature and be pleasantly charmed

It’s been a while since life has treated us
The way we wanted it to
Certain and happier
Well isn’t that asking for too much
Yes, it’s been a while
Uncertainty has kept everyone busy

It’s been a while, now
To get accustomed to what is irreversible
Finding solutions, to the ones that have
For amelioration

An ocean now between us
Should these waters
Ever again part
I wonder
How deep the chasm

Stone chipped and worn
Damage and years hidden
Blanketed by moss
A covering of tranquility
Beneath shade and root
Neither day or night
Have much difference
So deep down and within
Floors upon ceilings
Canopy over canopy
New life from old
Ever sprouting and breaking
A Comforting perpetuity
Here I will rest for a while
While long ages pass
As though they were but dreams

Another year has come and is almost gone
And yet my resilient spirit continues to fight on
Farewell 2020
You bought sorrow and misery aplenty
I thank Almighty for having survived you
You were like a never ending Monday morning blue
You did give me some memories to cherish
And there were a few with marks of blemish
Dear 2020...so many facets of life to me you have shown
I've suffered...survived and yet have in so many ways grown
I've stumbled...faltered and burnt
Yet there's so much that I've learnt
Dear 2020...you taught me so much
Weirdly enough I'm now thinking that I'll actually miss your touch
Here's looking forward to a hopeful new year
I hope and pray that it brings some joy and happiness instead of mostly tears and fears

Wishing everyone a joyous and safe new year...May Almighty bless us all with peace and prosperity.
Even the brightest day
Vades into the ebony veil—night.
Even the straightest way,
At length, a bend doth await.

Though mighty is the sun,
At dusk, into the sky doth sink.
Though pure be the fun,
Canst vade in a single wink.

Look how the sea wave
Races unto the shore with delight,
As though she'll rove, and rove,
But unto the sea returnest with fright.

Even the fastest stream,
At length, vades into the sea.
Though how sweet be the dream
At length, thou dost awake.

Look how drops of rain
Plummet from yonder sky,
But the earth's crust, her drain,
No matter how heavens dost cry.

Though pleasant be the life
As sweet as heaven's nectar,
Though a life be marred with strife,
At length, all could be vice versa.

By eternal law of nature
In books of life, whether good or bad,
Naught lasts forever, even the future
Come morrow—it’s just remembered.

Thanks for stopping by to read poor lines of a lowly bard. A cheery new year unto thee wherever thou dost dwell. God bless ye.

Some nights
I crack a window
to let out the stink
of darkness

unsheathe my knife
and think of carving
free my eyes

tossing them high
into a pine
so that they can see
all that isn’t going on
around me

instead I let the sharp
hard winter winds
of black starlight in

to fan the flames
of lonesome desire.

The blossom

The flourish

Hitherto the withering

One backward glance

Time ravages beauty

South City Lady
these thoughts are to you
for your soul's absorption
not mass consumed
read, discarded, reproduced
for when we share,
the nexus of eyes and thoughts
carry a spiritual dialogue
you wander the footprints
where my words have tread
feel their snow laden leaves
stare into the sky's heaviness
vortex of unexpressed ideas
we've yet to translate
hold my winter to your breast
until these words warm
kindling for midnight fires
where sparks dance
in lyrical heresy forming
memory for our minds
May our words remain true to feelings,
to the expression of authentic ideas
for  a receptive audience resulting in a
highly intimate exchange of hearts.

There’s a holocaust
sweeping through my body
but i call it
love,

strap myself to its stake
as a sacrifice, relish
how its fire

dignifies me,
how the tongue-like torso
of my scent
rolls out to taste
God.

You, with the hot air
for hair, you
with the sparking skin,
feed my flames,
you

hearteater, the mouths
on your cheeks
open wide
& I enter, as if to join
the rest of me; see

how all that is left
circulating in my veins
is your voice; my body,
now inanimate,

an instrument for your
heartsong—hear
its cinders sing like
cicadas—here

is the sequel to your stones
thrice striked.
