I crave the creative flow
Entranced within the zone
The imagination flying free
Beyond timeless space
I shall attempt to convey
These sensations I breath

At speeds where
Time stands still in humility
My thoughts explore
The far regions of all possibilities

A dominant gene
Set in motion
The passionate drive
A need to decipher
These hidden pathways
Within my own  mind

And within that moment
When the chemistry reacts
I'll enter enlightenment
And never come back...

Lets play a game,
Where you pretend you actually love me,
Instead of telling me that my eyes are the same colour
as your favourite pair of jeans that you constantly poke holes in.

Or where you don't tell me that my smile is like a toe nail,
Because I know how much you don't like your toe nails.
Don't tell me my eyes have the same sparkle as stars,
Then go on to mention how stars are small and insignificant.

For this game only don't compliment my physical appearance,
Tell me  how my poetry speaks to your soul,
Even though I know very well how much you hate it,
Tell me I have a beautiful heart without having to compare me to mother Theresa.

No wait lets change the rules,
You are going to sit there and listen to me while I talk,
You are not allowed to interrupt me,
I never do

So before I tell you that its over,
I think you should know that my eyes will not be compared to a pair of jeans you got for $50
They are worth more than that,
My smile is like the crescent shape of a moon,
Not the toe nails you never liked.

And you know what,
Stars are not insignificant you are
And lastly you might not like my poetry,
But I do.

I close my eyes & go to my happy place
And in that place there was me & you
But when I open my eyes and come to reality
I no longer see you standing there smiling at me
In you is where I found my happiness
Felt like all my dreams had came true
But when you left you took my happiness
And all my hopes and dreams fell through
My happy place became vacant of you
Thus making life harder to follow through
But one day alone in my room I thought to myself I could be happy without you
From my mind you faded more and more
The thought of emotions fading hurt me to the core
But I knew this is what I had to do in order to be happy without you
My love for you will never fade
But being in love with you was something that changed
I could say your name now and not cry
This is the most I've ever felt alive
I close my eyes & go to my happy place
And in that place is me
Living life to the fullest and finding happiness within me
I smile more and laugh more and its not cause of you
But cause I learned to look for happiness in me
Instead of happiness within you.

Oh how, in o’er two thousand years, has evil won the day?
How many generations passed that never learned to pray?
Is the patience of a vengeful God strained beyond repair?
No! His mercy and forgiveness remain gifts for all to share.

The miracle that we are here, that we can feel pain,
Is at once a curse and blessing; Is at once a drought and rain.
For in the driest desert, a cactus can survive,
And good fortune and abundance cannot keep the dead alive.

Can all opposing armies have a unifying goal?
Is there a cause so righteous that all men would give their soul
To live and breathe together, to work and play as one,
To lay down arms and all join hands ‘til our days on earth are done?

Those that gather gold have seen the devil in disguise,
For no amount of gold can gain them Heaven’s paradise.
Then ‘tis Paradise we strive for? Peace for all eternity?
Our goal then to discover, where hides Heaven’s key?

A peaceful, loving life on earth, will unlock Heaven’s gate,
Do good unto all others, share your joys and bury hate.
Do not judge thy neighbor, for his suffering you can’t know,
Listen, hear his story, be his friend and not his foe.

Then when this life is over, and the judgment time has come
Be sure that you have sinned, but that those sins are overcome
By the faith that God is present, He forgives our doubt and sin,
Opens up the gate to Heaven, and will gladly let us in.

See the emblem waving
Proudly, touted in the sky.
We walk among our brethren.
We recourse, resource the reason why.

All, in trepidation...
We cry out for separation.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?

Citizens of the nation,
Before humanitarians,
First comes clicks of locking doors.
Equality does not endure.

A man of any land should be my brother.
The whole earth, to us, our mother.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?

See the burden being carried
High upon laden backs,
Tautly stretched, with shoulders bending.
Each fear the other will attack.

The words have been the same,
But for intent that's not their own.
For too long, have we been believed.
Equality is just for some -

Is just for some.

Freedom is only for the free.
The lines that keep the captives buckling,
The doors that keep them let them go.
They have no where to escape.

Always there is tyranny
For the landless refugee.
He is no man as worthy as you.
Equality is just for some -

Is just for some.

All the lessons that teach us to love
The home of brave and free
Are based on notions that could not be true,
If all are not the same as you.

And, are they not the same as we,
Who are decorating for our holidays.
Living in our plentitude,
Singing songs of charity and caring -

Charity and Caring?

Gifts are given and received.
Do we remember the lessons taught
About the kind of men we are,
When another is in need?

Do they not rate the same concern
As the presents and the tree,
As we pray in  Holy Spirit,
Singing songs of charity and caring -

Charity and caring?

See the emblem waving
Proudly, touted in the sky.
We walk among our brethren.
We recourse, resource the reason why.

All, in trepidation...
We cry out for separation.
Could it be our own downfall,
Equality, but not for all -

But, not for all?
This may not make a lot of people happy, but what I have been seeing a lot of on social media is beyond me. We have been better humans that we have been, before.
I don't think I've ever wished a poem I write make the top of the heap as much as this one. I think it is the most important piece I've ever written.

Oh how wonderful words are
They can empower
they can uplift
they can entertain giving someone the courage to attain their dreams
Oh how powerful words are
They can cut deep they shatter dreams killing one's ambition to never achieve.

Mesmerizing Goddess
Anathema to all fear
And fractured disbelief
Storehouse of magical power
Perfect simplicity
Satisfaction guaranteed
With brave and lovely things
In the hearts of those seeking
Cosmic celtic woman
Cultivating consciousness
of inexhaustable bliss
Awaiting, She will come to you.

Appreciate a pure sunrise
See all its glory
Yet just before Amazing Dawn
Has its own story

Before you have a choice to make
Turning left or right
First pause to contemplate the spot
Right within your sight

Body language will belie the
Loud clang of false words
Look into a person’s eyes or
Miss the message heard

What makes a brilliant orchestra
Or pastoral scene
The thing defining beauty is
The spaces in between

In the pauses, in the spaces
Feel your resting hearts
Waiting for the curtain rising
Just before it parts

All the spaces in the painting
Give it life and depth
Sea shells overlooked make precious
All the ones you’ve kept

Hold that hole in that sweet donut
Just before it’s dunk
And keep an eye right on the ball
Right before it’s sunk

Anticipating Christmas morn
Or Baby’s first step
The moment he’s still holding on
Right before he leapt

Savor that bite, unopened gift
Mere ghost of a smile
Forget the end, appreciate
Running your last mile

Did you know that every time they called you ugly you believed it?
Did you know that you gave up a long time ago?
Did you know that you want to be that girl?
You want to be that girl with long hair, and gorgeous eyes
You want to be that girl who gets the guy
You want to be that girl who always looks beautiful

But instead you look like every other girl that he has ever ignored
You have never bothered to look nice because no one ever notices
You never opened because that would mean caring

So what happens to a dream deferred?
You're not entirely sure
But your dream of not being alone
Of being that girl
Well that dream, is eating you alive

Cry
Cry until you run out of tears
Take off all of your clothes
Look in the mirror
Make a detailed list of all the things you hate about your body
Look in the mirror
Until you are thoroughly disgusted
Hate yourself
All of yourself
Inside and out
Cry some more
Look in the mirror
I am disgusting
Run out of tears
Cry from the spider-leg lacerations on your wrists
And be thoroughly disgusted
This is a self-reflective poem, written in the second person. Self harm is dangerous and I am in no way encouraging anyone to to cut.

I want to whisk you away
Hold her hand like it's the only thing anchoring you to this planet
Let her wear your jacket (she likes the way it smells)
Tell her she's beautiful
Not hot.
Not ****.
Lot's of girls love themselves from the shoulders on down
Don't make the same mistake
Serenade her with corny declarations of love
I wish I lived in your socks, so I could be with you every step of the way
When life gets hard for her
Do you have a band-aid? Because I think I scraped my knee falling in love with you
When believing you love her gets hard for her
You should be a baker, because your buns are perfect
When looking in the mirror gets hard for her
Let's play Titanic: You be the iceberg, and I'll go down
When you get hard for her
Kiss her on the forehead (but only if you're tall enough to do so easily)
Worship her personality in front of friends
Worship her mind in front of parents
Worship her body in private
Worship her body in public when no one's looking
Never let her go to bed without hearing *I love you

Tie her shoe for her
Wrap your arms around her when she cries
Don't be her Prince Charming
Don't be her Knight in Shining Armor
Be the WHOLE **** KINGDOM
Be her best-friend, boyfriend, and bed-buddy
Don't be a baby: let her take pictures of you
Remember- every touch makes her heart race
Make her heart race
**Then whisk her away
