come feel this moment
and with your tongue
tell me of the depths
sing of your treasures
and share eternal riches

Wailing walls, howling fences
Encaged and blocked by barriers
All smashed, sorted in security fence
Miles of humanity and flesh torn apart
Why is it that we can’t live together?
We bleed the same coagulating blood
Lined up and humiliated in alleyways
Paths of iron bars and imprisonment
My veins wringed, intensive torment
Mentally distracted, strained by grief
Settlement, conflicts and border struggles
Governance, religious trickles of disunion
The biblical birthright verses human rights
The unsighted straining peace settlement
Shadows of the peace blueprint screams
Ongoing reconciliation, milked in small doses
Whose home is whose? Subdivided in areas
Controls of disillusionment undisclosed
Unmanned checkpoints evokes fears
Revolving cameras tossed and turned
Bansky slogan “make hummus not war”
Smashes freedom to uproot  and merge
Constitute and construct peaceful resorts
All horns blowing to collapse duality
Passing through the Palestine-Israel controlled areas hit me really hard. Walls so high evoking fear. More so, lining up for few hours was draining, as got cleared to end up again on the Palestine area . This time the queue was longer than before. Another traveller got very upset and passed the line. The locals were complaining asking me to "speak to your friend" but she would not listen and passed the queue. I had decided to line up again and this made me become more empathetic about people who have to undergo such security checks on regular basis.

You’ve been lied to
They spied on you
But that’s not half the ****
They used to and still do
To my brown brothers

Ancient words
Spoken by older bards
Golden dreams
From England’s yard
Hundred plus years apart
Still stir and inspire
This tired but now happy heart
Those stories when told well
Recommend themselves
Speak highly
Boldly
Deeply
And in them
Return ancient words
Which move me

A kingly stature makes peace
Does not feed or free hate’s beast
Nor ties it to a leather leash
But through wisdom find its’
Causes for fury turn to tranquil release

Beauty hurts
I stretched the dirt
To cut the crust
Split the earth
To reach out to us
And find the past

Infinity sparkles
Beneath the soil
Sweet scent of raisin rolls
Roll me into memory
Beautiful but transient

**** the armament
Touch the firmament
Hit heaven’s eye
Not with weapons
But with dreams of the morrow
And dreams of yesterday
When beauty still looked the same

Soft childhood smile
Permanently plastered
On my mind
Loneliness mastered
But still cracks the plaster sometimes
Chipping the armor
And leaving seedlings
Of regret

Posing in pictures of the past
Beauty breaks my heart
Because beauty never lasts
Spoiled by winter frosts
Sickened and assaulted by winter’s loss
But sometime it comes back
Reincarnated in a flower
Or a butterfly

I sat in history class
Must have been
My senior
Or junior year

On the screen
Came horrible things
Emaciated
Decimated
Human beings

Numbers tattooed
Bodies burnt
Gas chambers
Stories so cruel

Years after we read
Anne Frank’s diary
But no one really had a clue

The pictures
Were part of a documentary
Made to remind us
Of human insanity

Skin and bones
Broken men
Barely left standing
Human suffering

I couldn’t help but cry
But behind me no one else did
And then I couldn’t help but wonder why
No one else felt the same sadness in it

The American dream
Is a Bentley
With some shiny thing
Selfish arrogant human beings
Wanting more and more

While some places could use a doctor
Plumbing of any kind
Would be mighty fine
And something to eat
Well that’s like a treat

The American style
Has us throwing good clothes away
No need to save
Or share
No need to care
For someone else
Only numero uno matters

In other places races just wish
That the police would cut their ****
Stop pointing guns at them
And shooting their children
Or that local warlords
Would leave their children be
Democracy is just a pipe dream

The American way
Strives to separate us
In competitive groups
Desensitize us
And dehumanize the other

In other places people share
Out of love
What little they have
They are glad
To give to another
So who is civilized?

I strip
To rip
Myself from
Myself
Major labels
Silly slogans
Dry wash only
Made to define me
Walking billboard
Corporate *****
I take off the hat
For the team I support
Put down all the digital devices
Cause they replaced my old vices
Remove the faded Levis
The Nikes, and super hero shirt
Disposed of the whole disguise
Got rid of the old lies
To find what really lyes
Behind my hazel eyes
Naked to find
Who am I beyond my
Consumer style consumption

I am broken
Not love sick
Sour faced
Teeny bobber
Heartbreak

But social devastation
The kind that comes
With the human revelation
That things don’t get better

Greed rules the land
Followed by ignorance
Pacing close second
Racial issues are still
Clouding the way people feel
Cops are still brutalizing
Black people
****** is still a word
I hear regularly
In this a redneck society

Except it is never as simple
As that
The poor suffer
The words won’t come
In lieu I guess a heart ache
Will have to do

I would cry
If I had any tears left
I would try
If I had any hope left
But I am broken
Just the way
Some people like

In truth
Only the insane can remain
Standing unbroken

He sculpted reality
Shifted melted metal
To shape a better world
The hand of man

She sculpted flesh
Growing cells
Pygmalion of the womb
Suckling and nurturing
A newborn

He made madness
Mimicking solar explosions
Destruction
Death

She gave birth
To generations
Yet veneration
Was given to the masculine
Man made god a male

The progeny turned upon
The progenitor
Male propagated pain
Female yielded the fruit of life
In all forms of adaptation

Though I reject gender division
In societies expectations
I would prefer a female god
Giving birth
To the damning male model
Condemning all those who live on
This beautifully evolved Earth

It does not cancel
But laughter
Slightly eases
All the pain

It does not negate
But ***
Sometimes
Softens hard horrors

It does not stop
But there are moments
That make it better
Despite the nightmares of life
Stolen seconds can be restoring

Cracked hearts cast no radiant light
Just flicker like fireflies
Crying while their trying to fly
Sighing while we watch them die
Call them band of brothers
Call them Jarheads
Old military romantics
It’s different from the distance of time
Miles of emotions jaded in Technicolor wars
Played out on tv
But never really reach real
Or let us truly see what they felt
