Alone he seeks
Alone he searches
Alone he hopes

Alone she seeks
Alone she searches
Alone she hopes

Together they learn
Together they trust
Together they love

As one
they grow

cover me in your bloodstained bed sheets
that still smell like cigarettes and ***
from the night she left
mid-august

press your ears against my chest
listen to my heartbeat
write a song to the rhythm of what keeps me grounded,
but all of the lyrics are about her

title it her name

we always talk about the ocean
and how listening to the tidal waves
can bring peace
to a restless mind

but we never talked about
the strength of waves
and how they can ware down
grounded rock
to
helpless grains of sand.
I wrote this on my fourth night of being hospitalized to the thought of you.

dreams
suddenly contained
your  presence
the other night
you hadn't really been there
for years
our time is over
I had to say
to your sad face
it’s not that I don’t
miss us
my life is so different
it just went
another way
After years of not seeing my late husband in my dreams , he was suddenly back again.I told him life had moved on for me ...

i think i like the illusion of you more than you
because i contort things in my mind while you were away
'When the moon is in silence with his stars in the night, on one side of the circle. The sun shines through her clouds on the other side. On some days they collapse together. The sun will sometimes be obscured If it is too much for the moon to alleviate. To share what is hidden in two souls, a piece of the same, to be as one and spin again in the perfect formation.'

You show up
asking for an
explanation.
I don't have one.

You ask why I'm
so cold hearted
but what do you
want?

Do you want me
to bend over
and pour my
heart all over your
shoes as I
beg for your
forgiveness.

I don't want your
forgiveness.
I don't need your
forgiveness.

Like how you
didn't need me
when you
cheated
4 months
ago.
Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.
