Cake Light

The need to feel alive and numb
Causes time to fly
We let the witches **** our thumbs
While we lived in cake light

The bluebird in the home is an omen
The blackbird in the heart is a prayer
One will bring you death through pleasure
One will bring you truth through despair

So watch as the flame levitates
From the ceiling to the floor
Feel the warmth light up your face
As you wish upon an open door

So now I'm alone again,
Wishing we were more than friends.
You made me feel wanted,
With you I was home.
Now I'm begging you please,
Don't go.
I'm not good on my own.

This blindside,
It's knocked me off my feet.
You feel guilty,
I feel dead.
I never should have showed you,
What goes on in my head.
Dear god what's wrong with me?

What is it,
That makes everyone leave?
Is it the way that I look?
Do I talk in my sleep?
You say it's not me,
But I'm the one you're leaving.
We're crying in my room,
My cries have turned to screams.

So now I'm alone again,
Wishing this would end.
Torn between running back,
And never seeing you again.
How do you take back,
All those things you said?
You feel guilty,
I feel dead.

This is what's inside my head.
You feel guilty,
I feel dead.
This is gonna be one angsty Pop punk song

why a poet?
because a poet
hears the words
which sing the
purest harmonies
because a poet
paints their portraits
in pastels
of phrases
because a poet
dances their agonies
into leaps of faith
and pirouettes
of passion
because a poet
sees
the beauty
in the commonplace
and captures
the moment
in a snapshot
of ink and white
because a bloodless world
cuts itself
a thousand times

and the poet bleeds
For my friends here and around the world on World Poetry Day.

You're just like Medusa
You've turned me to stone
With one glimpse of your eyes
The ones I thought that I've known

Yet lately you're silent
That carcass begging to refrain
From the duties of your being
That slithers wildly again

So darling take a breather
Your soul is begging for the air
For venom dances on your lips
With the slightest movement of your hair

Kiss me lovely, kiss me
If that will cure your soul
It might **** me in an instant
With you, I've never had control

Your beauty graces the heavens
But your body's cold as ice
Yet your being is pretentious
I'll pay the infinite price

For this body is a messenger
But to the eye I'm merely stone
For you lose every motive to live
When you fall in love with the unknown

You killed her.
You may not realize
what you've done.
You may not've killed
her physically, but emotionally
she's gone.

Our Love

Prohibited and inhibited from the start.
Like a shooting star lighting up the night sky.
Your heart and mine talked, our minds instantly connected.
The tears from my eyes with your hands collected.
Our love is not right they say,
Our  love is misunderstood.
Another day goes by and we are still standing side by side.

Those who misunderstand try to to fill us up with guilt.
We would rather feel ourselves up with pleasure.
The love we feel they cannot begin to measure.
I am you and you are me so they cannot deny that we are meant to be.
