Laniatus
Greying sky
Fettered by quivering, clouded seas.
Moon ripening bright
Like soft steel, soft
As a riverbank's close currents
Awash with arctic blues;
Winter's conception - ice
Throughout summer
A cool breath dissipating
Like a fading memory,
Weightless, humble element,
Polished, unabashed,
Windowless and bright.
Dull reflections glisten
Under strokes of evening sun;
With laughter
And gifts of love.
I do it so I can feel pleasure,
Searching for battle, ***, and treasure.
I take them to be numb as a rock or light as a feather.
They say slow down ,will I? Ha Never.
I ride dragons and keep company with the green lady.
I love this girl because she never questions my fidelity,
I abuse her, burn her on a pire as if for witchery.
Her name is Mary.
I have no god in my pantheon except Eros,
He goes by many names ethanol, E and blow.
He saves me from monotony, its nagging like a stubbed toe.
He runs the world like a ring master at a circus show.
We are lions being whipped and taunted
Because to fill the void is all we wanted.
Another part of my muses series on lusts addict family member hedonism

Silver Lining
Things I didn't have control of:
-Mom&Dad; getting a divorce
-My brother being sick
-Mom having to leave for days at a time to stay at the hospital with my brother
-Having a new mom and two new siblings
-Dad living 45 minutes away
-Dad not being there
-Dad drinking
-Staying at Grandma's when I was sick
-That boy's actions and words in middle school
-My step mom cheating on my dad
-Losing three people that I had grown up with and loved
-My brother passing away
-Him cheating on me
-My co-worker lying to our boss saying that I bullied her because I was best friends with her now ex-boyfriend
-Another boy's actions when I told him I couldn't be in a relationship at the time
-Him telling me that he doesn't love me anymore
-Breaking my body in an accident and spending the entire summer recovering
-Other peoples' happiness and comfort

Things I have control of:
-How I react to the actions of others
-My own happiness
-The music I listen to
-What I eat
-When I work out and how hard
-If my room is clean or not (which it usually is)
-How I treat myself

*Yeah.. I can see why.

If you ask me
"How are you?"
You'll get one of two answers

Either,
"I'm fine",
Or "Same as always"

Well "always" *****
And I'm not fine

So don't bother asking me
"How are you?

Because 'always' is not okay
And I'm not fine
This is really bad but...

If you've ever asked me how I am, here's your answer

Earthen soil covers the ground
as the campfire crackles with that
sparling sound.
The sky twinkles with stars like
tiny little glow bugs.
The sky blankets its love with warm
summer hugs.
A breeze so gently whispers and so not in vain.
The creation of God is so beautiful as
He's calling my name.
To explore new paths and trails and
outdoors run so free.
I remember the campsite I shared
it with thee.
