Everyday is pain
The struggle
Of living
Tear filled eyes
Dry throat
No point in crying-
Who's listening anyway

Shattered
Broken
Bent
Heavy eyes
Heavy heart
Nothing beneath it all
Nothing on the outside
Empty

I cannot remember
the last time
Somebody
            Made
                    Me
                       laugh.
Blithe: showing a casual and cheerful indifference considered to be callous or improper.
"a blithe disregard for the rules of the road"
Blithe sounds like a sad word but it doesn't mean sad... It's a strange word.
I used to be the girl who
cared about everything.
But now, I'm not sure
if I care about
anything at
all.

I could lose myself
in you.
I could bury myself and
never look back.
But your love is
quicksand.

You're an
illusion. A card trick.
Houdini's Upside Down.
Will I ever
escape you?
Or are you
the lock that sticks?
there's almost always
an ambiguity
between what my words mean
and what my mind intends them to mean.

like, with loving intention, i tell her
i can't praise you enough

she smells a ploy in praise and enough.

she interprets them as
she hasn't done enough to deserve my praise.

then, when i tell her
with age you're maturing in beauty

she takes them to mean
i'm digging at her age
and her beauty is in doubt.

last, but not the least
when i compliment her thus
you've made my life full

she retorts

no more fooling.

Skipping stones
And broken bones
And memories long gone
A summer through
Like me and you
As the leaves change on
I remember now
And it's my vow
To forget of all we've done
But I can't say
Within this day
To regret all or none.
