To His New Lover,

I have only heard whispers about you and seen glimpses of you in pictures
The one thing I know is that you and I are very different
And I hope that means something good
That maybe you bring out the man in him I never could

I hope he tells you you're beautiful every day even though you don't need to hear it but because you deserve it
I hope he never forgets to buy you flowers because he would do anything to see that smile spread across your face
I hope he holds you more than he makes love to you so that you always know he loves you for your soul and not for your body
I hope that when you fight, he fights for you instead of you having to convince him to stay
I hope that all the promises he makes and the dreams you build together you get to see manifest

I hope that there is never a day that you have to doubt his love because he is committed to showing you every second you're together how priceless your presence is to him

I hope you are everything to him that I couldn't be, that he wouldn't let me be, that I didn't know how to be.
I hope that your love is enough.

Sincerely,
The Girl who Loved Him First

I have wasted
too many years
of my young life
wishing I had been
blessed with
a different story.
I am learning
that all life
is precious,
and that each soul
that walks this earth,
is a mere breath,
a simple expression,
of the interwoven
fabric of our universe.
We are each
a ripple in time,
and our aura
radiates energy
that travels faster
than the speed of light.
We are divine beings.
When we possess
this knowledge,
we breach
the edge of certainty,
and begin to understand
that we hold the key
to our everlasting divinity.

Sometimes things don't go how you planned. I don't understand my own mind and that scares me. I used to write poetry, but now when I try to write, nothing happens. I wish I knew why. I am unsure where I belong. I live in a home that isn't mine, with people that aren't my family. I wish I could find the switch in my head that makes me know what to do. What to say. How to fix things, how to be happy. It's so hard to go through the jumble of thoughts in my head to pick out the ones that matter, the ones that are real. I have so much to say, until it's time to say it. I am so tired.

My mother told me,
beware of the boys
with beautiful eyes.
They'll **** you in,
and tell you lies.
Then kiss you sweetly,
after making you cry.
They'll pull you in,
and give you a life.
Then sleep with the girl
who is not very nice.
They'll push you away,
then reel you back in,
because their hooks are in you,
and your heart is theirs to win.
Their eyes are dangerous
for a fragile heart,
because boys like that
love to break hearts.
Once they've got you,
they never let go.
So resist their charms,
and learn to say no.
When a boy like that
comes after your heart,
beware
the chase is on
from finish to start.
These boys are entitled,
and stubborn as hell.
They get what they want,
and they run the show.
So if one decides
to stake claim to your heart,
beware of the spell
he'll cast over your heart.
If your dream is to get married,
Yet his is not,
Do you give up your dream,
Or the guy you can't live without?

For what use is it to be married,
To anyone but him,
Such happiness would not be found
With anyone else, for the sake of a ring.
Troubling thought burning my mind. Needs more attention to make proper sense!
