 Jun 2019 A Simillacrum
Lovely
When you’re sad
It’s as if
Everything is too bright
And nobody understands
Who you are
Or where you came from
Even if they’re the ones
You’re coming from.
You feel trapped
In yourself
In what you are expected to be
Seeing your flaws laid out
On a map
Tracing the route
From where you are
To where you wish you
Could be
But maybe
I would be happy with me
If I would stop
Speaking without saying anything
And talking without being heard.
Be Happy

Unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you honor the truth that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.

Moon-lit slits through ivory curtains,
Windows kept ajar for creeping secrets,
The sound of humming busy bugs.
Beds kept warm through unconscious bodies,
This was what summer was about.
Silly whispers of unkempt persons,
Clothes of disarray,
Tangled limbs and kisses of good mornings,
Time seemingly kept at bay.
Memories never made so none were lost,
Places never visited so never seen,
People of uncharted territory so they were never missed.
Fingers roaming unwanted strangers in the dark,
More silly whispers about a forgotten tomorrow,
No more good morning kisses of today.
I can't seem to sleep during these hauntingly sweet nights.
bodies familiar in the hues
of a dying day
in the shadows, in the shade
blacks and grays,
indigos and jades

whispers muted in the last
gasps of light
our language,
words knit into the night
our vision, monochromatic --
your breaths,
the moon,
my static
I was almost out
And almost free
I had slipped the chains
You'd tied to me

I'd dug the tunnel
and made it through
The flame it flickered
The moon in view

I made the highway
Towards the sea
I was almost there
And almost free

I travelled by night
I crossed the line
I passed the border
My papers signed

I was almost there
my life was new
when I was caught
and returned to you.
I miss the feeling
Of being held close
Of holding a hand
Of lips upon mine
Of trying to send the sexiest picture
While keeping my clothes on
I miss the feeling of knowing
That someone out there loves me
The same way that I love them
I miss the feeling
Of having someone there for you
Of laying down with their arms wrapped around me
Of my legs twining around theirs as we laid in each other’s embrace
I miss the feeling
Of being with someone

Somewhere,
      the rain falls
      oh the rain
      can't help falling
      into the sea
      going back home
      to where it belongs

Somehow,
      I'm just like
      the rain
      can't help falling
      back in your arms
      to where I belong

And in that
powerful moment
she stopped letting
his false love
devour her
soul of happiness
