A candlelit rage
Dances in Shadow and Light
Flickering our flame.

a cold, snowy night,

at your bus stop.

for a lifetime, i could stay.

holding my bottles,

i could be okay.

but i will never see you,

not your shadow, not another day.

so i will turn the other way,

a world apart,

our hearts remain.

Tears

Tayana Pink
What are they for?
To help us show emotion?
To make our belongings wet?
To run down our face when sad?
We may never know
But one thing I do know is
I wouldn't have them if you truly loved me.
Because you loved her more.
Now I have them
Tears.

Autumn Winter
We dance soft, contained, closed-
-careful not to show.
We are safe within the lines.

Seeping out between the cracks,
coming to the surface,
are the real colors:
Wild. Beautiful. Broken.

Courage is in the simplicity:
bare feet on wood,
air in our lungs,
-a tiny beating-
a calling deep within our bones.

We dance imperfect and raw,
our bodies finding the voice that shouts to be heard.
We dance freedom, vulnerability;
the struggle of sunrise.
Unraveling,
we let ourselves be seen.

We throw, crash, release, open.
I feel your hand grab my arm,
and the way you hold me sews my heart together.
We are one.
We are separate.

Pulling back each piece
from the animals,
humanity,
the stars,
we are humbled by what we’ve created,
by each other,
ourselves.

Sweet things have no words,
only nods and sharp giggles
over gasping for water.

In these moments
I know there is something more.

why won't you
close your eyes
when you know
you'll get hurt to see?

why do you choose
to return to
where the pain resides?
"Because I fixed my broken self" she replied. "And lost it again"

He sighed. "Aren't you tired?" he asked.

She shrugged, glancing at the night sky. "Maybe. Who knows?"

"Why stay?"

She smiled. "It is in this pain that I found home"

sing me a lullaby
a gentle melody that lures me to an endless sleep
captivating and poisonous with a silent weep.

sing me a lullaby
as I close my eyes, a final good bye
a song of melancholy written, a tale long forgotten.
