  May 2017 Spectre
Danielle Petrin
Every moment, concentration,
every breath is dignity
Shaping,
  Molding,
    Moving,
      Flying.
Life is folding little creases
til a newborn crane is formed.
Flying,
  Floating,
    Falling,
      Dying.
Like a thousand paper cranes
Someday, I will find
My favorite version of myself.

Here today, in hell tomorrow.
If wisdom leads me there, I won't feel sorrow.

If the man who wanders in darkness
is ready to take my carcass

My body decayed by nature
my soul released in danger.

When the moon if fading out
and my brains are aroused.

When my existence is no longer needed
and stupidity at last seceded.
Spectre Apr 2017
Latched on to years passed,
the chains of mistakes hold you still.
Each worry interlinked.
Hours may pass, everything moves on, but you do not.
Spectre Apr 2017
That dark shadow,
leering over your shoulder.
You feel its presence,
you know its methods,
and worst of all
you know its inevitability.

Emotions set in and
its hold tightens and
your thoughts are in chaos and
you're tangled in the grasp of your own fear.
