I wrote a poem when I died...
Another at my birth.
A brand-new sonnet when I cried.
And again when there was mirth.

A song for my confession...
A story for my pain...
A painting for depression...
And nursery rhymes for rain.

My creations live inside my heart.
I keep them there in shame.
Yet you looked around and saw my art,
And smiled all the same.
She can walk
          between
             night and day
               never letting either
                  get in her way.
She learned this trick
                     many moons ago
                                by
                     going deep within
           and never letting it show.
Her soul is innocent
her heart is pure
she’s gone through more
than most could endure.
            She’s an angel of light
                 an angel of dark
                 you never know
              what you will spark.
                      You want to hurt her?
                         Please, go ahead and try
she’ll be the one to show you
                                  just how well she can
                                                              f
                                                                l
                                                                  y.
                                  Her soul innocent
                    her heart pure
but never think for one minute
that she’s not secure.
                                Say what you will
                          please, do what you must
                       but your jealousy and hatred
                             won’t waver her trust!

Let's Meet at the edge of the world
Where the sea falls into the stars
***** popping, and snapped bars
Drunken nights, and smashed cars

Hazy rooms and useless A/C
Smoky beds and wet sheets
Tingling skin and ****** feats
Hopeless love, a never ending sea

Dark pasts, and failed stories
Purposeful distance, and mindless kissing
Potion drinking, and hearts failing
Empty promises, and Pointless parties

I won't allow you to be lonely
You won't make the mistake without me
Let's poison each other into heaven
It's the least we could do us heathens

So let's meet at the edge of the world
Where the sea falls into the stars

sometimes im nothing
i am vaguely person-shaped static
all but a blur lying in bed

sometimes everything is hazy
and im there, but not
walking on autopilot

sometimes its not me
im talking and laughing
but i can never see or hear

sometimes im awake
and im living and breathing
but god, i wish i wasnt
oof

My chest rises and falls
And I'm painfully aware
that I am living.
But I ask you,
Is it called living
when the air you breathe
the very substance that keeps you alive
twists and twirls and takes
your breath away.
Ironic isn't it?
Is it really living
when the food you eat
the very substance that keeps you alive
is your greatest enemy in times of anger,
but fiercest ally in times of sadness?
Truly, ironic.
And is it really living
when the happiness you make,
the only thing actually keeping you here, alive.
Is it really living if it's all a lie?

Sometimes when I catch some feelings
For the lonely moon shining in the sky,
The scarred moon says to me,
"Your feelings soon will fly!"
Yet the moon teases me
With its silvery moonlight,
"Don't worry, oh sweetness
You're love will fade in time."
Soon when the eclipse devoured the moon,
And I look for him in the darkest of nights,
"You'll look for me behind the clouds" Says the moon,
"But that's not really where I hide.
But, soon when our universe collides
Once again I'll appear in your nitesky.
Oh! By then you've forgotten me,
And all those feelings you held inside of your eyes!"
What happens when we suddenly realize that our life isn’t meant to be lived in sync with the sunrise,
rotating clockwise,
ticking in unison to the heartbeat of the masses,
carefully outlined on spreadsheets govern by assumptions,
jumping to conclusions,
never leaving room for options.
When we realize that sometimes life takes you by surprise,
on a magic carpet ride where eyelids are lifted,
where clouds part, revealing blue skies,
a new high, uncovering lies,
where stars seem incredibly near and dreams so tangible so real so close to reality you want to jump right in.
Where clouds beg to be painted
And reaching for the moon is habitual almost spiritual.
And worries are perishable and words ever-so lyrical flowing together effortlessly. Where laughs are celebrated and intellect rewarded.
Where moving counterclockwise is normal.
Life gently moving by at your own pace giving you time to embrace the sea the mountains the streams, to snorkel, have a look at the coral.
To watch sunsets and sunrises.
To be excited about building new connections,
learning new lessons,
asking more questions.
Scraping perfection and embracing human faults.
Because there is no such thing as the end of learning,
nor is there such a thing as settling.
Here we welcome opportunities, greet ideas, acknowledge change.
Recognizing that our limits are further than we think
And our potential extending beyond the horizon.
Set no limits
Settle for nothing
Radiate sunshine, love, and intellect.
And never forget,
You are more than you perceive.
