he walks at my pace
lets me think I won
keeps his mouth shut
till my stories are done

holds open the doors
calls, doesn't text
makes sure that I'm healthy
getting plenty rest

buys me a coffee
instead of a shot
remembers the details
I was sure he'd forgot

he’s old school, classy
his intentions are good
and he treats me like only
a gentleman would

We are taught from a young age that we should spend our time biting our tongue because speaking out is not attractive. We can stand up for ourselves but only if it is in such a small whisper you can barely hear it over the exasperated male species fighting over who is the strongest. We are not allowed to have certain jobs because they were made for men but I didn't know that an untouchable job was created only to dictate who can join and who can not. They told us from the minute we could walk that our brothers would be more successful than us and it didn't matter how hard we tried because they would always be one step ahead, one step closer to victory, while we.. would be one step further away each time they got closer. At school and self defense classes they teach how to not get ***** but I've never seen a class or a lesson plan that says "Don't ****". Why is it that my clothes or how much I drank dictates whether or not it's my fault that a boy could not control himself?  We can not walk down the streets of a busy town without hearing the echos of a whistle and a cat call left and right. From the age that we grow ******* and out bodies develop we are victims of being under the eyes of a man who stares at us like we are last night's meat that he wants to devour.

Just GS
all in all, i loved the fall
forgot to stop
afraid to stall
walls i made to guard my heart
broken now - both torn apart
delayed disdain i fail to start
vertigo reversed to show
i'm alive but only ghosts
remain - insane, i keep them close

When the weight of
a thousand moments
wasted overthinking
makes its home on my skin
and drip, drip, drips
down my cheeks,
I doubt everything.
I doubt ability,
your credibility.
I doubt capacity,
I doubt significance.
I question why
everything I touch
eventually shatters,
and why in my heart,
you still matter.
But maybe it's time
to stop doubting myself,
cause maybe this time,
I could feel good enough.

She stood there looking into his dreamy eyes
But couldn’t see the monster beneath
A monster she didn’t know
Would tear apart her skies
She stood there clueless and mesmerized
Unaware about the hidden monster
Unaware of the fact that,
For her he may be the whole book,
But for him she was just another chapter.
He was her world, her soul, her everything
But for him she was just a time pass
While for her he was the time she never wanted to pass.

She loved him with the truest of feelings
She looked up to him
Above all she trusted him,
And he, he impetuously shattered that trust
That love to bits and pieces so small
But so painful, painful enough to break her apart
And he just stood there and watched her lose everything
Yet she stood there broken, shattered, tormented
But with hope that he’ll come back
Yes, she stood there with nothing but hope
Hope that he’ll come back
Hope that he’ll one day love her truly
And with that same hope she waited
She held on, until one day she let go
Let go of her life but, not of that hope.

Thy face is of a phantom
Perpetually caught in the
Cusp of conundrum
Ambiguity and facade
I see the pain behind your eyes
Drowning your hopes for tomorrow
Love will wear many a disguise
To find a way through your sorrow
You feel you’re lonely everywhere
The world to you seems so unkind
All this time no one seemed to care
Your heart will show the light, you’ll find

The truth of your soul comes your way
The mind will only deceive you
Just when it seems you’ve gone astray
You know your troubles will leave you
Call my name I’ll be there somehow
Remember the love you found here
Every day when you need me now
Through the spirit, we are bound here

Falling like a star from the sky
Falling like an autumn leaf does
By your side, till the day I die
This is how falling for you was
You can hold me deep in your heart
You will remember true love’s place
When your world seems to fall apart
Think of me just stroking your face
Our true love is deeper than deep
It takes you from the burning pyre
With a little work, you can keep
The truest love you most desire
