She lights another one, she'd rather
Smoke than run.
It used to be for fun,
Now it's become more a
Reaction than behaviour.
We all turn to our saviour.

He'll pour himself one more
Unlike before when he was
Not a drunk for sure.
He drinks himself onto the floor, a
Toast to friends he lost to
War, to wishing he was
Just as dead and gone as
They were.
We all turn to our saviour.

She doesn't even try, with all the lies
She tells the guys.
They grow in size until it's
No surprise she lies herself to
Self-despise.
There's truth behind her eyes, but
Deep inside and in disguise.
Now it's too late
To tell the truth,
She's only sickened by its flavour.
We all turn to our saviour.

I try to use my voice and speak
Out loud, but sound so weak I
Close my mouth. I sneak a line in
Inbetween; as thin as paper.
Being heard instead of read means
I'll be quiet when I'm dead.

I pick the pen instead, again when
Stating something sort of major.
We all turn to our saviour.

Happy tears come from eyes
When I see you come for me
Have to rise my heart
Have to take a breath
And want to say something
That is hidden in my heart
Like a fossil fuel
Want to take it out
Use it like a fuel
And want to say that
You are in my heart
You only can heal me
I don't want to miss you
How can I say you that
I may be afraid of your reply
But still have to say you
And I miss you like a sweet dream

The body of human is a cart to travel around the world
Our soul is the one which is owning one of the cart
Our intelligence will be driving it
Heart will be guiding our cart like a steering
The five senses are the horses that will pull our life
How will you drive your cart
Only in your hands
Safety is important
Happy journey.

The Power Of A Whisper

A whisper makes you listen
It can stop you in your tracks
Can gives words different meaning
Create memories that will last

Whispers cause new feelings
They can change a point of view
Will help to stop the anger
When someone's mad at you

A whisper gives true comfort
Allows a calming peace within
If you listen very closely
You'll hear a whisper in the wind

A whisper sometimes can be heard
From way across a room
To feel the power of a whisper
Just whisper I Love You

Whisper

When things get settled
I start moving
It's the time to hit the trail
I take the chance to move along
by truck or car or rail

No ties to where I'm leaving
Where I'm headed
I don't know
But, when things start feeling settled
I know it's time for me to go

Friends, not many
Family...nope
Relationships...they don't exist
I only live on hope
I'm not around one place too long
i know the time to go
I've said goodbye so many times
I forgot how to say hello

Images of long ago
A father was not there
He'd leave when we were not around
Off to who knows where

I've seen so many broken hearts
I stopped counting at fourteen
I don't even try to know
The broken hearts I've seen

Friends, not many
Family...nope
Relationships...they don't exist
I only live on hope
I'm not around one place too long
i know the time to go
I've said goodbye so many times
I forgot how to say hello

I'm lonely, but I'm not alone
I'm by myself inside my head
I've memories of loves I've lost
got too close, so then I fled

I don't want to be a number
Just added to the list
I don't care to even try to count
The lips I've never kissed

Friends, not many
Family...nope
Relationships...they don't exist
I only live on hope
I'm not around one place too long
i know the time to go
I've said goodbye so many times
I forgot how to say hello
I've said goodbye so many times
I forgot how to say hello

Echoes within me still remember your mellifluous voice,
blue waters in the pool of my heart still preserve the reflection of your eyes,
honey melting slowly on my tongue reminds your love,
sweetness was defined to me the way i understood, first  by your presence.

why does the cat still look wistful through the window,
the wind misses its tune thinking it gets your scent again,
heart sacrifices few beats, every time the clock chimes,
time runs out fast for me, yet hope keeps vigil to make up lost time,

I carry within me a moment of our life, a jewel we chiseled
on the verdant hill we stood overlooking the valley, till horizon,
prompted by the musky scent of forest flowers that enveloped us
we kissed, transported to a world above, touched our  star
that golden moment of our love we gifted to each other, the hope remains
A kiss brings the two flowing souls to a confluence.*~ Amitav

Petal pie
We're cooking up a thought stew
A mindful casserole
Compassion the sauce that our hearts impart
sad tales sieved from our souls.

The base of the dish is hope
seasoned with laughter and tears
we stir in empathy to the mix
and we plan to allay crumbs of fear

Our stew has a dollop of knowledge
jugs of experience
ears that are prepped to listen,
Spiced with strength and resilience

But we won't prescribe your recipe
for  journeys are made with choice
your life's kitchen tools, your recovery rules,
empowered and mixed using your voice.
This is a work in progress. I feel excited to be involved in a project to train other peer support workers in mental health, and creating the course at the moment. I hope this poem inspires the process x

At times I refuse to believe that
Racism exists, other than in
Movies and jokes.
It is just too ridiculous a
Concept.

In a world overweight with
Selfish, hate hurt, grudge holding
Beasts of Barely Men
With gold lust in their bone
Marrow and gold dust on their
Minds working to make it all
A miserable place for everyone else...
Judge from colour?

Who can afford to exclude the
Good ones, over something
As sadly superficial
As skin?
Angels and devils walk
Within all shades of
Man
Alike.
