How difficult it can be to write poetry
When your mind is so numb

breathe
  let the wind take over
feel the cool waves lap your skin
  taste the bitter salt
and smell the rushing gusts that sing

breathe
  you are not alone
  embrace the storm
  feel it caress your face
the touch electric as the lightning streaks

breathe
  you can do it
the storm is by your side

breathe
  because you can

how does it feel
trying to connect
to be open
and vulnerable
to quickly regret everything new
and everything you've become
after losing yourself

happiness
sounds like sadness

love
sounds like hatred

truth
sounds like lies

eternity
sounds like mortality

care
sounds like hate

finding
sounds like losing

and you
sound like the death of my heart

I was born in the grave
With growing pains
They keep me awake
Alive,
Even today
Dirt filling my veins
A remnant of my grave
Reminding me of the past I've made
And the omnipotent forces at play
BLT's word of the day. Omnipotent

Autumn pours her vintage, red

and rippling, into casks

of rough-hewn oak;

smokey avenues damp

with the exquisite balsam

of the gleaning season.

A variation on a theme. :)

‘I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every lush shade imaginable offset by autumnal flashes of red and yellow.‘
