Are you a gangster or
a thief seeking attention

Are you an artist or
a  voyager painting words

Are you a poet or
a plagiarist seeking love

Are you a Saint or
a sinner searching for salvation

Are you my heart or
a tattooed scar stuck on my chest

Are you a fisherman or
a sailor giving life a second chance

Are you the moon or
a lonely sun ravaging through your days

Are you moving forward or
dragging through tormenting memories

We were standing there just talking and laughing
Remembering the good ol’ days that actually weren’t that good
and I couldn’t help but notice the uncomfortable look on your face
So let me gently ask you: do we owe you something, sir?
Because since we arrived I feel this hate coming from you,
a passive-agressive staring that makes me feel guilty for just existing
in a public space
like it’s a drag for people like us to be out here and
not hiding in the shadows of our profane rooms
but despite what you may think I didn’t come to this place on vacation
this is where I belong even though most of the times I wish it wasn’t
and as you stare at us I feel the same thing that my friends and siblings felt
just two seconds before they were murdered.
I fear that these are the last scenes of my short film.
I fear the news my mother’s gonna hear if I dont go back home tonight.
I fear for my friends because they don’t even seem to realize
that the man sitting next to us
has got in his eyes a hate that im pretty sure he wasn’t born with,
but was taught by a society that only remembers love
when it comes to avoid talking about the mass shootings
against us that they support and
while they’re trying to shut us up when we ask for reparations
for the permanent damages they have caused us
But I aint got no time to talk about it so let me ask you one more time:
do we owe you something, sir?
As I was sitting here I thought a lot of times about
going away to avoid the worst but now
it’s my turn to shut my fear up and stand here
to say that I ain’t going nowhere.
Because I’m tired of leaving places
to feel a fake safeness ‘cause we all know the statistics too well
to ignore that home is not sweet when you just don’t fit
There’s no safe place to go because our hearts are trophies
and you've got this uncontrollably desire to feel it on your ***** hands
and we both know you’d do anything, anything to find out what it feels like
and you’ll believe that what you’ve done is something to feel proud of
and believe me,
they will arrest you for ****** but only because
they need to show people that killing is wrong but they don’t really
think killing people like us is that wrong, do you get it?
It’s the 21st century but i've heard of witch-hunt,
gay concentration camps and slave markets
within less than a week.
Not far from here the last screams of people I knew
were heard and their voices won’t stop echoing in my head
'cause nine times out of ten I know that just because
the bullet didn’t come for me this time I does not mean it won’t come
but you didn’t answer my question so let me answer it for you:
do we owe you something, sir? No.
You owe us.
You owe us and you better pray for afterlife to be a myth
because if it’s real we’ll be there to remind you that you owe us
You owe us so much that you could have a thousand lives
and yet it wouldn’t be enough to pay what you owe us
Because everytime you **** one of us you’re killing all of us
and it only makes your debt increase.
So when you see us lower you head and be grateful
we didn’t take your soul yet.
not sure if it's a poem but it is something so
I know you will be alive and in love
like a child for the first time.
You will chase and daydream
and trace their name on fogged over windows
and even though you're older,
you'll be none the wiser
and just as dazed and clueless
as I am now.
~~ ****, I love having my head in the clouds. ~~
You know who you are
Bruised Peaches
Those hit, hidden
Shamed
Belittled and bitten
By the very people we loved most
Mocked
For staying with the bearers of our
Bruises
We warrior spouses
Some of the peaches are lucky
we rolled from the pain baskets
Others have to stay for seedlings
This particular peach
After years of bruises
Nearly got squished between the fingers
of a bruise bearer
And I'm bitter mush
But I'm still whole
And all the while
He whispered,
I love you, I love you little peach
He gave me a seedling
She grew
and with her
My knowledge grew
It took the kingsmens axe
To cut me from that dead tree
But thank God
This peach, is free

It's the hardest thing in the world to leave an abusive relationship. We're often made to believe it's our own fault. Even after one leaves, the lawyers, judges, counselors even, make you feel "less than".
I rarely write of my awful marriage. Even today I'm ashamed. And I know that it wasn't anything I did but that fact escapes me sometimes. My love to you all. Especially the Peaches.

There is no room for you in my bed
My monsters have already gotten in with me
I'd like to tell you a story
It begins in 1492
When dear old Christopher Columbus
Sailed the ocean blue

He landed on what he thought
To be the country of India
He stumbled upon a group of people
Who appeared to be indigenous

Because these native people
Happened to be where he thought he was
He called them all "Indians"
&& somehow that name stuck

They welcomed his group with open arms
Even offered them their feast
Unaware that deep inside
They were but wolves, dressed as sheep

Columbus && his crew
Soon ravaged the land
They took what they saw
Then they took full command

Of the people they found
On the land where they landed
They felt they should rule
So they stepped in, heavy handed

They murdered the people
Who had taken them in
Set fire to their villages
While the victims watched with their kin

Flash forward to the future
It's now 2016
It's been over 500 years
Since the overtaking by the regime

Future settlers decided
To let the survivors live on
They designated them small areas
Of what had not yet been robbed

These Native Americans,
Generally keep to themselves
They get by living off their land
But now they need your help

The Sioux of Standing Rock
Are being horribly mistreated
The state of North Dakota
Is poisoning them without reason

A pipeline has been built
That runs through this Native territory
When Bismarck residents didn't want it
It was rerouted, how discriminatory

People from all over the country
Are seeming to agree
They are making the commute
To protest peacefully

In defense of an oppressed people
Who only want to live
But the government is stepping in
Even blowing off some limbs

"Let them die, they're not like us"
the message the administration is sending
It seems that after all this time
The battle is never-ending

What exactly does it take
For people to see eye-to-eye?
In the end we're all just human
We kiss, we laugh, we cry

So if you have a heart at all
If you know that this is wrong
Please join the Sioux in their mission
By coming together, we can be strong
You don't have to be out there protesting to help. You can still make a difference by making a monetary donation to help build with Standing Rock. You can read more about it on the go fund me page listed here. Every bit helps.

You are a benevolent visitor
Inaudible as my dreams
Everything you touch
Turns to crystal and white

Oh how my eyes delight
In your beautiful patterns
As you lay quietly upon glass
Can you stay forever?

My flesh abhors you
For the sting you administer
yet Autumn's half-stripped trees
Wear you as a morning garment

I do blame the sun
As it shortens your reign
Your brevity intensifies my desire
To see you on the morrow
A brief thought on FROST as it invades my morning commute ...
