Writing a poem is "easy"
       But
          My brain is loud
              So,
                 My heart covers her ears
                    And closes her eye.
Writes whatever but ends up in the
                                 draft.

Love?

They say that love is
Deep
Kind
Long
and Wide
But for me love is
Dead
Dark
Elusive
and Painful
And when my tear stained face finds a gentle hand to wipe away my sorrows
I fall in love
Or perhaps I fall in line
I’m not sure there’s a difference anymore

The poetry isn’t in all these words —
It’s in knowing I survived them.
Holy smokes! Thank you everyone for all of the support! I don’t come here too often so I did not expect this; what a beautiful surprise ♥️

in another life, maybe i could have laced
your fingers in mine
chasing starlight down the line
and finding out we'd
never have enough time.

when summer ends, when hearts bloom-
you'll look at her,
i'll look at you.
trying out the lowercase aesthetic. oh, and unrequited pining of course.

He liked my smile but
not my laugh.
He liked my sarcasm
but hated my scars.
Between hello and we need to talk
I wanted the world and all he could give me were
three idiot words.
Again, what's on the tin. I should probably stop procrastinating.

You are tea,
serene in your surroundings.

                                                                                                       I am coffee,
                                                                           attention always bounding.

Your colour milkish pale,
creamy optimism.

                                                                                             I am taken black,
                                                                                                bitter cynicism.

Two sugars,
to match your disposition.

                                                                                                    None for me,
                                                                    I'll maintain my grim affliction.

                                               We differ so much,
                                                     it's obscene.

                                                   But in the end
                                               we're both caffeine.

Squeezes poems out of me
And grinds my poor soul
