What
Does one do
When
They love someone
They can never be with
Asking for a friend

It's been said,
If you love something
Let it go

So you did
And I'm free,

But I'll return
Knowing

You love me

I want a love so deep that all my shallowness disappears,
I want a love so lucid that all my doubts clear.
I want a love so consuming that all my fears dissolve,
I want a love so inspiring that all my thoughts evolve.
I want a love so pure that all my sins are forgiven,
I want a love so trusting that all my insecurities are riven.
I want a love so joyous that all my sorrows are washed away,
I want a love so poetic that it lives even when I no longer stay!

im the person that stands in the corner at a party,
that spends nights laying awake in the comfort of makeshift arms.
the walls are caving in on me,
and the loneliness in my head is slowly eating me alive.
im starting a series about feelings ig

Sit with me awhile;
Talk to me.
Tell me everything you would have done
If I was still alive

Sit with me awhile;
Cry with me.
There’s no shame in expressing your emotions
If you’re feeling sad.

Sit with me awhile;
Listen to me.
For even though I’m lying here, silent, remember
What I would have said.

Sit with me awhile;
Just sit with me.
Sometimes you need no words, or tears, or anything
Except my company.
Cemeteries can be sad and lonely places, where sometimes you don't know what to say or do.

My grandpa
             Words he gave
To me once upon a full moon
“Son” he said
“When you go into this life”
“Remember, that love is a language “
“So find, my son, find someone”
                     “Who speaks your language “
“So you don’t have to translate your soul”
                                   Hmmm.

I live in your basement
Unnoticed to your enjoyment
Quietly lost in my own existence
Yet firm and vast persistence

My heart beats to your every step
As i wait patiently for your misstep
Through a crack i see you every night
Beautiful and fair in my sight

Your scent seeping in through the floor
Through my skin, my every pore
The sound of your laughter i hear in the dark
I feel your breath on me with a spark

I touch your feet every night through the cold
Your bare skin... Heavenly like gold
I am only a feeling away
But not today

Isn’t it funny
How poets dramatise everything
“An ocean of depression”
“A death grip of love”
We just can’t help ourselves
It’s who we are
It’s part of being a poet
Over analysing life
Deeply contemplating death
“What is the meaning of life?”
Everything is philosophical
There’s always a lesson to learn
An issue to address
A heartache to confess
I couldn’t even resist a little alliteration in the title.
