The paint is flaking and falling off
splotched edges
discoloration
stormy days
weathered years
creaking and leaking
cracking from heating
the physics of aging
and seasons of raging
the terrible toll
they are taking
makes you think this old house
needs replacing.

But listen to the voices
of laughter and loving
hear echoes of weeping
and promise keeping
poems that were spoken
being whole and broken
see the tears that were shed
the glories in bed
sighs and lies
some of them said
inside the house that was home
these many years.

Inside spirit reigns
with angels unchained
where heart and soul
on a journey bold
through seasons of pain
where demons were slain
new life was greeted
death was cheated
souls were enrolled
in miracle courses
treasures discovered
of higher forces.

This old house of seventy six years
holds joys along with fears.
The structure isn’t new
but inside
there is
youth.

you're the center of my galaxy
but i'm just a speck of star
in a sea of many
and just like stars, you're so far away...

Have you ever been
Encaptured by the stars?

Have you ever wanted
To fly away to Mars?

Have you ever wanted
To exist in Outer Space?
But not to exist
Within our space.

Have you ever wanted
To fly up, up so high?
Because the high down on Earth
Is really just a lie.

Have you ever wanted
To land upon a Sun?
Though you know that you’d burn,
Before you got to touch one.

Have you ever wanted
To travel to a far away place?
Well, what farther is there
Than this vast land we call

“Space”

to me,
you’re the center of my galaxy
the sun whom all the planet orbiting around
the main key to every warmth.

and then there is me,
one invisible asteroid floating
in the sea of darkness
had enough of wishing to see you up close
care about nothing but the sun’s happiness
she loves the sun so much she doesn't mind being burned into ashes as long as she can be near

You were beautiful
Inside and outside..

But when I know the real you
You're beautiful only the outside..

planets sprout from the ground
venus is picked up by a boy with nothing but good intentions
stars fall from the sky, and i reach out my tongue to taste them
i tell you i think we need to learn how to
dance in the stars,
tiptoe through the milky way,
tap dance along the constellations
we walk on ceilings here
and we sleep when the sun comes up
everything is backwards
upside down
flipped on its head
we walk on clouds
and we smile when we are sad,
and you tell me you love me
you have always loved me
you will always love me
everything is backwards.

I once fell in love with a man that went to the moon,
he told me that he'd love me forever.
He took me to see the stars
And all the planets,
He promised me he'd give it all to me if I married him.
I married the man that went to the moon
And that took me to see the universe.
I gave him a child
Who we named Leo
And he too grew up and went to the moon like his father.
I grew old with the man that went to the moon
Where our hair looked like the stars
And our eyes beamed like the rings on saturn
But just like that,
The man that went to the moon died,
I was left alone,
With no one who to gaze at the stars with
Or travel to outer space with,
Or sing to the sky with.
My man that went to the moon was gone,
Now he's somewhere in outer space,
Shinning in the night sky.
