oh, he's marvelous
writes me letters
sings me songs
makes me laugh
holds my hand

oh, but that's not true
no letters
no songs
no laughter
no hand holding

oh, and she's not a he
she's my wife
and i can’t visit her
but you never asked
and i can never tell

*-”how's your husband back home?”
a piece for my end-of-year project in apush. im choosing to research don't ask, don't tell.

blue mercury
sometimes love leaves you
aching;
longing, for something
your fingers can’t touch,
and your mind can’t identify.

sometimes love leaves you
hungover;
blackout nights/headache in the a.m,
can’t move, your body’s heavy and
last night’s a blur.

sometimes love leaves you
poetry;
lines and lines of whispers,
words that you can only
give to 11:11 wishes, and midnight.

sometimes love(rs) leave;
going like a vagabond,
wanting none of your time,
the ache in your chest
throbbing.
I HAD THIS IDEA AND I ROLLED WITH IT
Nature has divine qualities
Beyond national divides
So heart enfold immortal love
Where one sees mountain dance and move

In this do love has no color
Skin pigment shouldn't be honor
For all bears reddish clot
As we tread on earth path

So soil of time embraces our body
As the enlived soul transpired to the sky
All become one in a starky heaven
Where no divide and rule leaven

Only unending peace it brings
Shrinking hearts with joy and unending smiles
As they commune in glows of divine instinct
For the greatest commandment is love

As bird fly above
So cloud of hate gives love as chance
Embracing one with will of divine
So our earth become an undying paradise

Seán Mac Falls
( Sonnet )*

Under the primrose stars, the lovers
Lie abed, on green, threadbare croft
Of sleeping daisy, clover and moss,
Trails with hushed air, an embroidery
So fine as to stitch blushing heart fall
And wrap the waters full of quietude
In graces, winding, soft, granulating
Time, wings flutter and hum, winsome
Sparks, fire white, flying as little suns
Burst confetti, in sweet encampment,
Of grass and sapling wood, innocents,
Charmed are wholly twining, in moon
Rise a lantern to the winking heavens,
Out of their skins they are climbing.
Re: a poem of mine, finally being chosen as 'The Daily Poem' ( it only took over five years )

First, I'd like to thank all the fine writers and readers on HP for your lovely comments and support.

Secondly,
As an earnest and hopeful poet, who has been here, posting poems nearly since the beginning of 'Hello Poetry'
I'd like to thank the HP - daily poet - algorithm for finally choosing one of the hundreds of poems I've listed here.
Perhaps the ghost in the machine has a heart after all?

you intimidate all enemies, accidentally
with a cry of anguish and distress

you alleviate all pain, gracefully
with a single touch to the shoulder

you meditate all day, ceremoniously
with a mind so present and calm

you appreciate all entities, softly
with a heart strong enough to break

a place where smiles aren’t falsified
and tears don’t shed unless out of joy

where words don’t die in our throats
but against someone else’s lips

where happiness is the ****** weapon
for it is the cause of our heartache

where only our loved ones find us
and in each other we find ourselves

*-“where will you go now?”

i wish that i
did not think another
person's loving and
acceptance of me
would make me enough
for myself
i do not need them
but i can not
see that just yet
have yet to learn to love myself the way i want others to love me
