Stupendous scenic beauty, celestial bliss of Kailash
Clouds floating over, as if embedded in the sky
White swans briskly moving higher and higher
Mansarovar, echoing chants in the air  'shivoham'
Resounding loudly, Crystal clear stream flowing
Yogis, sadhus, travelers engrossed in the lovely topography
The Ganges rushes in
torrents from my eyes
and threatens to sweep me
away
it’s been four lonely years
Sai Krishna
I wait in the foothills of Mount Kailash
the sun and the moon wait with me
the earth has ceased its wild spin
and the stars have lost their merry twinkle
O Swami what we wouldn’t give to gaze
once more into your lotus orbs
Sai Krishna
mountain peacocks with bright plumes
chant Your name
and silver tongued nightingales perched in
high branches sing of Your
divine exploits
the empty jhoola is adorned with garlands
and sweet rose petals
Blue skinned Lord
You alone are the source of
Bliss
Grant us Your divine darshan
cuddle close to us
tonight

My heart throbs
Your name
Om Namah Shivaya
all the peaks of Kailash
are melting
with the ardor of my love
Divine city
in the stars...
in my heart
where my Lord
of Kailash, Sathya Sai
dwells
My Soul is a blazing comet
streaking towards You

Sai Bolenath

When will I know?

Grasp?

Realize?

That You are mine
forever?
We are celibate now
the sweet rivers that
once ran between our thighs
have dried up....
gutted fish lie panting on
shores littered with
caviar and vacant,
abandoned oyster shells
girding up our *****
we begin the arduous,
formidable, slippery, icy
ascent to Mount Kailash
Your soulful, blue eyes
merge with the
azure heavens above
our arms linked together
You whisper warmly
"Ready Mama?"
I take a deep mystic breath
surrendering to the vast call within
"Yes Papa..."

Long wintry nights I endured, in my eyes lie frozen,
like an orphaned dog I roamed, how many many, lives?
Sniffing at every thing, looking for love immortal,
at times tied down by the unrelenting chain of pain.

A spring in my heart remains still, that spoke unfazed,
of the flowers of the valley, blue mountains and chirpy birds,
that fly crossing limits to sunny lands away and far,
where dreams in many colors flower in mirthful hearts,

Love was an oasis at the far end of the desert,I reached at last after
meandering through desert tracks  lined on both sides with cactus
but the oasis I found was long deserted, the spring fully dried,
it turned out to be a mirage, created to trap me forever.

My soul was still a land of light where a wise bird kept on singing,
cheering  me to move on,  to reach the last and highest peak,
the wise speak about in meditative silence  day and night.
it was in sight, beyond the mind, mount Kailash of my dreams,

In the icy lake waters I dipped thrice, and took three circles around,
the morning mist cleared, like burnished gold the mount  gleamed,
my climb I started, those golden steps to fulfillment.

to you, from the slopes of Shivalik

Nestled between two hills flows the river Tawi

"you should see my city in autumn," i say to an old friend in his new apartment in Gurgaon.

In the bastion of the mighty Dogras, nestled between two hills flows the river Tawi - daughter of the sun

and there i was, standing on the old bridge overlooking Bagh-e-Bahu, "you should see the great Tawi during heavy rains, you should see her might when no one is looking"

the very might, of a son, that saved the king of the serpents, and in return the father crowned him the lord of the virtuous slopes of Shivalik

"she flows here from kailash kund," i tell him with a smile, "to the land of my father, of his brother, and his sister"

the land where the maharaja once saw a beast and his prey - bowing together, quenching their thirst in the month of June; free from shackles

"you should come on a sunday, and have some Rajma," as we take out the foreign bread from a local joint.

"maybe we can have some khatta meat too, if you decide to stay," i say to him as i take another bite.

for long have our forefathers told us to take pride in the soil of our birth.

they know of the threads that bind us to the place that has come before us.

some escape, some never come back, and some carry with them, always, the colour of their soil.

before i left, i too, stood on the old bridge - on my way to the old city; bowing to the Goddess at Bawe, as she looked on, ever present -- in the land of the Dogras, in her ever lasting abode.

"you should come see my city in December," i say to him as i take a last bite.

Nestled between two hills flows the river Tawi - daughter of the sun, nourishing land of the Dogras

Today we begin the
celebration
Mother of the Universe
Uma Maheshwari
Other half of Vishwanatha

With a thousand arms
Devi gathers us to her
warm ample *****
snows of Kailash melting

Kisses like swan white
lotus blossoms rain profusely
soothing our frightful anguish

O Ma!
Your children wail loudly
from their earthly crib
lift us up to the heavens...
to the limitless possibilities...

Whisper softly in our ears
"You are all sacred souls"
"You do not die"
"You live forever"

I am but a tiny dot
on this gargantuan landscape

As I expel these viscous tears
the Pacific Ocean rages

I used to think I was as invincible
as the unspoiled Mount Kailash

My drive unconquerable
as a small child's deepest desires

But I have lost many battles
and I feel my identity slipping away

Revealing my soul too much
to the dampness of a cave

Nonreciprocating
hollow

No direction
just like an unmarked road

I belong to the Earth
I am rooted to its misery

Just like a magnolia tree
shedding in the winter

Born again in the spring
until the cycle repeats
My breath is misty
cool air of Kailash
blows across my Soul
White tundra billows
endless drifts
only your flaming footprints
can be seen
I kiss each one
Will they lead me to You...?
Tiger skinned Lord
with crescent Moon
hearth and home are
a distant planet
my hands are frozen
in prayer position
Your name twirls like
snowflakes pirouetting
through crystal air
I've pitched a tent
under the Himalayan Stars
just one glance
before I dream
Beloved
One shimmering glimpse
Me Dec 2020
On the peak of
Mount Kailash
emerges a hand
pulling Herself up
joining
the Dance
for good
Lord Shiva can breathe
life back into us
His breath
Sing His breath
alone on Mount Kailash
snowflakes orbit like
white butterflies
around Him

I am a love crazed butterfly
Lord Shiva can breathe
life back into us
His breath
Sing His breath
alone on Mount Kailash
snowflakes orbit like
white butterflies
around Him

I am a love crazed butterfly
