I saw the sun steep
into the seascape ―
lonely as a drowning
    wave
         on still-waters

the dimming of the day
rescinding evanescent daylight                                                                  .
fading with the slack tide
         lost at sea ―
a gloaming moment
         let fall from
the remains of the day,
like some other passing
sea bird's molted feather
drifts away untamed

I sit silent as the driftwood
lingering at the watermark,
watching a random gust
    erase the footprints
of another recurring day,
bearing abandoned memories
    and vacant heartbeats,
atrophied in the drifting sands

    and I see you walking
    towards the abating
    midnight sunset ―
         but I know
    you're just a mirage;
like the dimming afterglow
of so many waning moons
            elapsed

ever-changing tides grow low
and promises made lightly
         do ebb away

Scanning the distant horizon ―
    a blindfold heart
    mooning all at sea;
parsing a deserted shoreline,
    wondering if love
          is too late ,..
    to stem the tide ―

There was a time...
The first rhyme
You ever read to me
That time when I,
Once unappreciative,
But that night...
Fell in love with it.
You recited your hurt like art,
A delicate voice,
But with trembling heart.

During those early days of early love.
I always wanted to read along as you read aloud.

And I would've died to be the page you'd slaved upon.
Tears, blood, passion unrivaled like a daring dawn
That fights the night till the day is gone.
Perhaps it was to feel connected to you,
But I began to write my stories too.
I threaded them together painstakingly,
Usually in the lonesome limbos I felt achingly,
Anxiously,
And it took so long to share myself with you.

Did you know you were the first to ever see them?
You always thought I was beautiful.

Once again, you encouraged the fire free.
And this isn't the only sea
You've taught me to sail.
Now I place my work here
With the sheer raw emotion I so dearly make clear.
It is one of the few things I've made mine.
I never said I had talent, but at least I can rhyme!
And now?

Now I write for me.
One of the most wonderful and wondrous things I admire in life is the ability to inspire and be inspired by the passion and love of those around you. If I hadn't met you, would I have such a great outlet for my thoughts and feelings? Thank you for teaching me to appreciate poetry.
A myriad of azure and sapphire,
sweeping over the bronze shoreline.
Siren's music to beholder's ears.
Mellow mellifluous sea breath,
twirling with the salty summery breeze,
whisking her to Eden...
Gurging wee white waves,
sliding and splashing onto toes,
alluring her to soak in the sea.
Gliding in the calm waters,
her hands building wonders...
Clam for panes,
seashells adorning the bay doors,
moat of seaweeds...
Enchantress's own castle,
born of moist sand,
along the sun-kissed ocean,
The sire of shoreline...

out of bed and into your arms
your fresh eyes, morning hair and scruffy face,
your hands go up my sides and back around my waist as you
pull me close and take me in
no where else on earth feels this much like home,
I've never felt such security in fingertips before
loving you is like breathing
because I can't get enough
Somewhere our souls danced
across the sands of time.
Torn apart like star crossed lovers.
Destined to travel time...
Looking into the hollow eyes of
falls lovers.
Searching for memories.
Humanity penning false narratives
and painting fairytale landscapes...
Attempting to deceive the soul.
And our souls wept until the waves
of pain and grief were lost in a kiss
And a secret between souls was shared...
"Do you remember?"
