eyes to the sky in wonder;
that which is without united us within,
if only for a moment to remember;
neither born of blessing or sin,
excepting the forbearance of our differences
by the flight of the shadowed fire fly;
and that it could be done in these troubled times,
no matter it’s haste in passing us by

The woman lives
When the shadow of the moon
Falls ebony on the earth
And the trees of her forest
Are like burnt matchsticks
on scorched field
She lingers then -
like smoke in the dark,
Until we meet
In the appointed place,
Two black holes in the abyss of the cosmos and
She opens
A nightmare mouth,
words slithering forth
-the tip of the tongue the teeth and the lips-
dripping from her chin
in jet black ink
"Are you ready?" she screeches
A crow
A banshee in the graveyard
I cannot speak, cannot see anything but the ink that rolls like a wave from her lips
Dark and terrible
A blood moon
"I See you" she calls with open arms
A lover's embrace
An eternal escape
But the shadow is receding
Drawing you to the heart of the forest
And she reaches for you once more
Your hand twitches
The path is tangled
Brambles whip and thorns claw
and you both understand
Time is up
"Never again." She croaks splayed against a treetrunk "Never again"
The woman fades with the last of the shadow
She cannot return
And you are alone again
Hands shaking in the sun
Lips covered in ink

You've frozen a solar eclipse in my heart.
I may never get through it.
I'm a target, now your throwing darts.
It hurts. You know it, but you still do it.
Love fades away, there's a look in your eye,
It told me your just playing around.
But I can see it, feel it, taste it,
Smell it like a hunting hound.
You leave, I'm here, frozen with gloom.
I thought that you really meant it.
When you said those words so beautifully,
It wasn't you who sent them.
So now I am bitter and harsh.
I go round like a little disc.
I stand here cold, dark, and sudden,
Frozen in a solar eclipse.
Fake. But meaningful. Beautiful. Happy eclipse day!! Bunches of love!! ❤️❤️

Look up, what shape do you see me tonight?
- Said the lovely moon

A solar eclipse
What a lovely sight
Seen by the lucky eyes
how fascinating it is to know that at one point of your life, you will be able to overcast a powerful sun.
Devin Ortiz Aug 2017
The Eclipse dawned shortly after sunrise
Though clouds decided to swallow her gaze
A supernatural dimness filtered the horizon
Some things occur and are felt deeply
Others often, can be never felt at all.

I felt the surge of madness.
The Dark Moon plunge her auras
So deliberately into my mind.

Irises became dark full circles
Reflecting the wonderfully insidious Luna
Her Eight faces shone as dancing disc

She sings, inviting visions, mayhap delusions.
What was seen before, and thereafter
Are stories of the beginning and end.

Gifted, with a sinister sight, malevolent.
But boundless, togetherness, solidarity.
All at once, with every I, to ever be.

The bright side of the moon
With a dilated awakening heart
Still it could not gaze upon us
And for a moment
The dark side was all we could see

I knew it was time for us
A high noon love affair
Under celestial shadows
I could only think of you
Stay the night by daylight my love

What happens now
A reflection whispers its life away
Watching the windy rip tide out to sea
Where only disapproving eyes are blinded
When will we meet again?

I could change your life
But only knowing that I approved
That was enough for once
It had to be
For the next life is all that remains

If the moon
can embrace
the whole
of the sun,

you **** well
can be kind
to the earth.
