For the writer,
for the poet,
acts of love
fall short.
They know the
best way
to express
the words:
I love you,
is in print
right  here
on the page.

A beautiful girl

Pleasingly and teasingly
Naughtily and saucily
Wooingly and cooingly
Playfully and seductively

Puts her clothes back on

Do I make sense?
I’m speaking but
Can you hear me?

It seems like I’m speaking silence
I suppose I am since, wait--
Do I make sense?

My words are easily misinterpreted
Even now, you’re listening but
Can you hear me?

Tangled tangents taken
From the context of my mind
Do I make sense?

I don’t. Of course the sound waves are reaching you
Still, I have to ask again to be sure
Can you hear me?

L’appel du vide is all I hear
I want to know you’re not the same
Do I make sense?
Can you hear me?
even i didn't understand what this poem was supposed to mean for a while. it took me about a month to realize why i wrote it.

I have wished for you in every star in the sky

and prayed you'd visit me in my dreams

waiting for 11:11 to come for it to come true

Hopeless still, broken inside, yet devoted to you
it wasn't what i needed but now i can't survive without you

Most nights I'm up till two, three, four
Wondering where I'll be
In ten, fifteen, twenty years
But some nights
I wonder if I'll make it that far

Not that I wear my heart on my sleeve
but locked away and keyed
How can I know that I can trust you with it?
That’ll make me believe than what you’re telling me?
