b for short
How to give a ****?
******* plays no part in it.
It begins with love.

I guess maybe,
It's the pain of yesterday
That reminds me that I have you
Today and tomorrow.
Came across a name of someone I used to hold dearly to my heart...

BUT YOU ARE A WRITER
AND YOUR HEART DOESNT
FEEL THE WAY YOU WANT IT TOO
AND YOUR MIND DOESNT
WORK IN ONE SPECIFIC WAY
AND YOUR MOUTH DOESNT
SAY ALL THE RIGHT WORDS
THOUGH YOUR HAND SPEAKS
THEM FOR YOU
BUT YOU,
ARE A WRITER

Sober or Drunk

I drank 4 shots yesterday
Every single one
"in the name of those we lost in love"
Feeling the burn
Down my throat
Tasting your last
Goodbye
And watching it infect
The blood in my veins
I felt the dizziness of
Being lost
The kind you feel when
You've just lost a friend
Or the one you'd fall asleep next to
Or both
I felt the nausea rise up
Like a roaring sea
With the memories we once had
As I stumbled down
To touch the ground
That for once felt like home
Trying to rid myself
Of the thoughts of you
Swimming in my mind
Sober or drunk
It's always you that
My heart remembers
Alcohol tastes better than sadness but it's not the answer, I promise.

When you decided to stop smoking
you kept buying cigarettes,
still carried them around in the
pocket of your jeans
but told yourself that
every time you lit one
you'd have to put it out on your hand,
and so you savored every moment
that smoke rushed through your lungs,
let them all burn down to the ****
before you took a deep breath
and pressed it against your palm.
You still smoke.

But we are
simply
not made
to only see
each other
when we
wake every
morning.
I've lost
you.
I've been scared to write this.
