I stand at the top,
Speechless,
Looking out.
As the mountains whisper,
"You are loved.
           Now          Go
                        And         Love."

The funny thing is
We are afraid to know the extent.
How scary would it be to know that the universe’s boundaries.
We take comfort.
Comfort in that it’s not on our shoulders.
To know where it ends.
To know the extent.

And in this way,
Is Love not the same?

a month for a month,
for our bodies to repair
from the cigarettes.
like a perfect blue sky,
our lungs clear
from the smoke scarred them.
like falling rain,
our fingers are cleaned
from the stains of poison.
like a fever breaking, our minds heal
from the deceitful addiction.

Time softens.

A month for a month,
For me to heal
From the the time we were apart.
Like a puzzle,
my heart mends,
putting back the shattered pieces.
Like clouds after a storm,
my mind clears
emptying the lies that filled it.
Like a quiet ocean,
my soul is calmed
from the waves shipwrecked me.

Scars are healed in the hands of time.

The steam on out breath
Mixes with the smoke from our lungs.
Our cigarettes burn,
Whispering through the crispness.
Frozen air
Bites our fingers tips.

You look so pretty with your hair pulled back

We are present,
Desperate to forget.
Why are stars so intriguing?
Maybe because we can sympathize,
They burn through the blackness.

The sun starts to rise
And Regret is ever present
As we sip our coffee,
We feel our emotions splinter our hearts,
And the remember what we have done.

The sun will still rise

We are shaped by our regrets,
But also by how we deal with them.
The sun will still rise
Even though you’re not here to see it
Even though your hands not in mine,
The sun will still rise.
