This is a long poem, but well worth
the time, you'll find.

Marjorie picks up the phone,
She's quite sure that she's alone.
Punches in her "good friend's" number,
She's excited... it's no wonder!
Something naughty to convey,
Can't wait to tell, can't wait to say!
"Hello, Sally? Yeah... it's me!
I'm at the window, and guess what I see!
You know that ***** across the way?
She's with another man today!
Hannah's hubby, right next door.
Can you believe that little *****?!!
I'm telling you cuz I'm your friend
This wicked business has to end!
Wait a minute... there they go!
They're leaving! And I'll bet you know
Where they're headed, oh, you bet...

... a motel room is what they'll get!

-chorus-
Juicy fruit spills from the lips.
Open mouth, and out it slips.
Sweet as strychnine to the tongue
Where the poison apple's hung.
If you have nothin' nice to say,
We're all ears! Come our way!
There's a tale to be told,
Don't matter if you're young or old,
It's a secret on the block...

... if it's scandalous let's TALK!!!

Sally Jo hangs up her cell,
Calls a good "friend" as well!
"Hello, Jane, just talked to Marge,
Got some news, and it is LARGE!
You know that harlot up the street?
You'll never guess her latest meet!
Hannah's hubby! Oh, gee ****!
Can't BELIEVE this awful biz!
Marge told me, it can't be wrong,
They were KISSING on the lawn!
Then they drove off in his car...
They weren't going very far!
No-Tel Motel's where they're at.
Whatcha expect from an alley cat
Hannah's gonna flip her lid...

... I won't tell, so keep it hid...

-chorus-

The story spread around, of course.
Hannah's filing for divorce.
Then her hubby lost his job...

... as PASTOR of a CHURCH OF GOD

And the "*****"? Well. She died.
She committed suicide.

The REAL story was quite sad,
And I hope it makes you mad.
"Harlot's" son... he needed pills.
Guess no one knew that he was ill.
She wasn't goin' very far...

... and her pastor had a car.

Who's the culprit? Who's to blame?
Guess we all know her name.
Who's to count the tragic cost?
How many lives that lie had lost!
Her little boy went 'round the bend.
An alcoholic in the end.

The tongue can be a thing of praise,
Or ignite a mighty blaze!
So check you heart and check your mouth,
Make sure that it's not headin' south.
Kindness is joy in age or youth...

... you reap what you sow, and THAT'S the TRUTH!!!

Gossip, or character assassination, in the
Bible is tantamount to ******.

Lies Cut Short
When I first met you, I'll admit I was a mess
But you were too
Our nights were filled with talking till dawn
And I love you
But this was back when you showed me off like a prize
When I finally realized
I don't need to starve or cut to feel something
I just need to look into your eyes

But now everything seems to have changed

When I say I love you it feels hollow
And you pretend you didn't hear
When I touch you I feel a shock
But you seem to disappear
You no longer parade me around
You seem to be ashamed
Because you hide me like a secret
And don't mention my name

And speaking of my name
Why the **** don't you repeat it
When it spills out of your mouth
Why does it sound like *******
Why do you only stare at me
Until the morning comes
Why can't you show your feelings
You make me feel dumb

For putting all this trust in you
And taking a shot
By honestly answering every question
Whether you told the truth or not
I tried to believe you
I tried so hard to change
But I guess you just won't make it
To meet me in the rain

And ya I ******* miss you
But I bet you don't miss me
So I'll open up my chest
And take my heart off of my sleeve
What the **** changed?

Oh, what a day
Oh, what a sad, sad day
Oh, what a day, she said
and I couldn't tell if it was me or her, can I get a witness? I need help, please
I need some help, for once
I can't be myself always
because hiding is so much easier
can I just hide?

A plant begins to wither
its leaves fall to the ground
and it drops its seeds

To some this may look
in its entirety, like death
but to others it is birth

A seed's shell cracks
its insides come out
and everything changes

To some this may look
like complete destruction
but to others it is growth

Breathe in
Breathe out

Life is a coalescence of
the Surround into the Self

It is a turning outside in

Breathe out
Breathe in

Death is a dissolution of
the Self into the Surround

it is a turning inside out

happiness surrounds the
cries of the newborn

Breathe in

cries surround the
happiness of the dead

Breathe out

Again the sky
Takes good-byes,
And I heave one
Once again.

Good-bye.

When you quipped
Ciao so flippantly,
Or rolled au revoir
So knowingly;
When See ya
Really meant
See ya soon,
I heard it all
So promisingly.
When you said
Later, it meant
Sooner than later,
And you drawled it out
So wistfully,
Knowing sooner
Lovingly.

This time
Come back
And say
Good-bye again.

Good-bye,
My girl,
For now.
My youngest just left for China to teach for a year. At least she's on the planet, and doing what she wants. Being a father and seeing your child succeed (as we wanted) has a very sharp double edge.

We were given a ticket for a ride,
A ride or die.
We go on this ride called life,
There will always be twists and turns that will scare us;
That will make our stomach drop from the fast pace.
We sometimes need that adrenaline rush to overcome the impossible.
To win but everyone wants to be in first place,
Constantly playing little games.
What if the ride or game ends? will we get another ticket? or will we be lost?
We all want to find that thrill in our hearts,
But sometimes we cant because we hear people scream,
But knowing we have to keep calm at times.
And our standards are usually so high they rise to the sky,
But our emotions are lower then the lines.
We also have to tackle our fears and get over the challenges.
So Keep riding along and keep getting strong.

The tale of a girl
The tale of a shy girl
The tale of a sweet shy girl
Her parents didn't see that
Every day she came to school with at least 2 or 3 new bruises or scars
At first I didn't put mind to it
Until she invited me over

She and I were close friends
So she allowed me to read her diary
Her secrets were in my hand
I read it over and over to make sense of it
It didn't make sense

Her mother came in with a knife not knowing I came over
Because she got permission from her dad
She said, "Time for your daily scars!!!!!"
She saw me and hid the knife
But I knew what was going on

We were friends after of course
Inseparable
But one day she didn't come to school...
And I never saw her again...
Realizing she was gone forever was awful
I didn't know what to think

Her mom and dad got divorced
Her mom got arrested
I got interviewed
I still have her diary
To the people who read this, this is not a true story. I'm glad it's not because I already have a lot of sadness in my life as it is...
